If ever you wanted a microcosm of RS brainwashed lunacy..... Today's Echo 'Judge and Jury' Liverpool opinion page... Neil Atkinson, host of "The Anfield Wrap" and author of "Make Us Dream...The Story of Liverpool's 2013/14 Season" being asked.....

Q : The Reds return to Crystal Palace on Sunday. Whats more important - revenge or three points ?

A : "Revenge ? What for? Listen, lets get something straight - one of the greatest things that ever happened in football happened last season at Selhurst Park in this fixture : Liverpool collectively tried to win a game 10-0. 10-0. And they very nearly succeeded. The stats from the game are incredible. Liverpool had a shot every three minutes against a Tony Pulis team. It was, for seventy minutes, Liverpool's best away performance of the season. They ran themselves into the ground. What else are we in it for if not that ? Its easy to be cynical in football. Its ongoing from all supporters. But this game does transcend whether or not what Liverpool tried to do succeeded; that they tried to do is the success. "

So there you have it....that Palace game is now considered a success. Tossing away a three goal lead, two precious points at the crux of a season and ultimately the chance for their fingertips to brush their holy grail, The Premiership. Right.

Reckon Rodgers will up till 4 in morning over this injury , racking his brains on how to get the best out of the group pacing up and down like a demented chimpanzee .

With a wreath of course... I suppose if you give him a typewriter eventually ChimpRodgers will come up with a working plan.

Love the little 'will gerrard capture his old form' poll on the article.

They do realise he is going to get older, not younger right?

Best thing for me with gerrard is the whole 'he is now a DM' and after over a year, slipping all over the shop and losing games, he is now moved further ahead again but isnt as good to play that role as he once was. So he is left with no proper position anymore but first name on the teamsheet regardless

Tried to win a game 10-0, but drew 3-3.

'One of the greatest things to ever happen in football'.

You cant fault that logic. It defo does transcend minor details like winning a game.

Oh boy, you can tell they are getting desperate as they are start to resort to the, 'net spend wasn't much considering the Suarez fee', 'board needs to properly back the manager in January' and similar claims of poverty.

£117 million he spent this summer. £117 million. I don't care if you've sold thr whole team and got 5 players under contract at the start of summer, for that kind of outlay you're expected to put together a CL worthy squad.
The other one they're peddling is that some of the duds aren't Rodgers signings. Apparently you can tell which ones Rodgers wanted and those he really didn't but were foisted on him by "The Committee".

I feel sorry for him really, that fellas stuck in stage 1 'Denial'.

At this rate he's not going to hit 'Anger' or 'Depression' until Carragher takes over from Gerrard after relegation into league 1 in 2018. Poor kid, I bet his mum and dad are sick of hearing him sing the Luis Suarez song during bath time.

I'd possibly grant them that Balotelli wasn't his preferred choice of striker (given the u-tun made on him), but the rest of the players he spent a fortune on were 100% his own choices.

i was being sarcastic mate, without the eye roll smiley lol

But Ballotelli is something them lot will not accept. His goal in the league cup came after days of him being called not good enough and sell him in january. Once he scored midweek it was the start of his goal scoring exploits this season. Which obviously never happened.

but the fact they categorically said they werent signing him (brendans words) and then signed him screamed one thing to me. The players they wanted refused to sign for liverpool and the ones that werent arsed wasnt getting offered enough money, so they went for the only striker people have heard of who would make them look like serious players after last season.

And then Welbeck / Costa / Di Maria / Luakaku to name a fewa re putting that to shame.

and of course southampton.....

I know. lol

You're right: Balotelli was down to Rodgers' status in the game not being able to attract the cream of European attackers. Of course for the Kopites it was all to do with dem yanks not paying the wages they require and/or 'weeer not in dat der Lubdun, lad'.
