My main gripe mate is the poppy is largely to remember and show respect to the soldiers who died in WW1 and if you know about WW1 you would know the horrific nature of trench warfare and the terrible conditions those poor soldiers lived in.

Regardless of mine, yours, McLean or anyone's opinion on the armed forces of today or of recent years, the poppy isn't for them it's for those of WW1, and the fact irish soldiers no doubt would have died in the conflict makes his whole message even more daft. I'll leave it that at we probably won't agree on this topic

I'll be totally honest and admit politically I'm not on the ball with a lot of things but what you have said I think rings true as poppies came from Belgium and the fields of Ypres which is to do with WW1 I think I'm right there. I definitely associate poppies with showing respect to all that fell in WW1 as my great grandad passed away with trench foot ( was sent home with this condition ). Been over to the Somme 3 times now, surreal place. Always makes me think of my great grandad. Sorry for rambling on a bit as well!

Don't forget that Rodgers killed his own footballing filosapy for us so the rest of the nation could witness Wimbledon circa 1988 with a better and less bitey Terry Gibson, that alone deserves a poppy.

I was agog. I had to check it was an actual kopite as I couldn't believe that they keep on giving in this way.

But they're dead not racist doh. And it was all Evra's fault.

They're a stain on football that we must clean if we want to feel good about the game. I've been trying to tweet BT Sport for an apology but as usual with them it will get swept under the carpet.
So glad that this has been picked up. I couldn't believe my eyes at the time.

Are they missing Agger more than Suarez?
