ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

My only concern is if they bin Rodgers, they might actually get someone in who knows what he's doing. Of course, that new hire will need to spend hundreds of millions to replace the dross currently on the books and it's not likely the incumbent owners are likely to do that. Worst-case scenario is FSG selling to someone with bottomless pockets who then hires an actual football manager to run things.

They've fallen so far that they can't attract the players necessary to challenge, they're limited to the same tier of players that we are, just that they're addicted to over playing for mediocrity.

They won't have another season like the last one unless they fluke another Suarez signing or accept they're not a big club anymore and buy more realistically.

I'd tend to agree except for the fact we know the pact with Satan can and will be renewed simply because of past glories. They fluked what, three pots in the last 25 years and they're still viewed as giants.

But I have been saying this since Rafael, what If they get a good manager, they might be viewed as a giant but world players are not seeing that.

.....Coutinho appears to be struggling for a game since Lallana's arrival which is a surprise.

As you both alluded to, Suarez is the key difference between this season and last but there are other factors. For me, Sturridge, Suarez and Gerrard were the cornerstones of a successful team model. Gerrard sat in front of the CBs making them defensively solid. He was in touching distance of the Holy Grail and pulled out every last effort of his battered body for that cause.

From his position he played Quarterback role hitting Suarez and Sturridge early and they turned those half chance situations into goals. Gerrard rarely crossed the halfway line. This season he's had to leave his defensive station to try and make things happen further up the pitch leaving his CBs exposed.

He made their CB's what?

I am all for them having crap managers but something about Rogers just grates on me and I would happily see him sacked knowing whichever flavour of the month they replace him with will be equally as crap in the long run

I can honestly see them losing all of their next 4 games.

Swansea (cup)
Newcastle (A)
Madrid(A)
Chelsea (H)

Pretty much a season defining couple of weeks for Rodgers
