Origi looked decidedly average despite the commentators best attempts to big him up. Lukaku did more in the cameo he had than Origi managed all match. Similar to the world cup though, Lukaku produced when it matters whereas Origi is just all work outside the box. Like a lot of their strikers, its a case of all hype no substance. Loads of the kopites are getting off over his run down a channel which resulted in absolutely nothing. Was the only time in the whole night he got behind a defense containing 37 year old Distin and Tony Hibbert.

Another teenager for Brendan to lump the hopes of LFC on and run into the ground like Sterling. He can then join Owen and Torres in the list of strikers' careers Liverpool effectively destroyed by their complete over reliance on them.

Looked marginally dangerous for 30 minutes up against a rusty 37 year old Distin...then he faded when Distin found his match feet again.

Bang average on that showing.

only sturridge has been value for money - ludicrous spending, utterly abysmal in fact.

Tbh that price for a 3rd/4th choice striker is fine, especially one who has experience in the league and who you know won't throw his toys out the pram when he isn't starting many games.

The problem is that he didn't get a goal in his first few games, which is unwelcome pressure on all new CFs, and more importantly they didn't get a better 2nd choice than Balotelli and Origi is on loan for a year.

They almost had a lineup of Sturridge, Remy, Origi and Lambert which would probably have worked out much better.
