ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

This is a bit nonsense, tbh. If he can be arsed, he is world class - as the Germans found to their cost - but the problem is that he is NEA 99% of the time. His problem is probably that he is so good that he has never had to fight his way up like Berahino did, or Baines, or Coleman, or Vardy etc etc. If some manager fixes the Balotelli mind then they will end up winning loads.

Hes not really though is he, Messi is world class, Ronaldo is world class, he cant get into the Italy team.

Ironically, this is the nonsense post. I have never seen Balotelli being world class. I have seen hims score some good goals, but then, Karl Henry scored a screamer last season, and hes not even a striker......

In his entire time at Citeh (3 seasons), he scored 30 goals. Entire time at Internazionale (3 seasons) he scored 30 goals.

Now, some may say that he hasn't played loads of games for that total to be raised, but this is his own fault, cause he is a 'bit of a bell' If Balotelli didn't act like he does, nobody would bat an eyelid. He was in the papers more for being a 'bit of a bell' than he was for changing a game, or winning a game for his team. Now? well, he's just in the papers for being awful. Funny thing is, he's as arsed about being awful, as he was about scoring goals. Its just a job to him, like delivering post. I'm not sure he cares for the game, nor the people who pay to watch him.

I was a big Mario fan when he first came onto the scene, he was strong, quick and hungry, but when you give a 21 year old big money there is always the danger he will lose interest. Mario plays when he wants to play, he is just a poor man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they have similair temprement but Zlatan wants to be the best by skill, mario by opinion from himself.

I thought he would develop into a great player when he first hit the scene...It just hasn't happened for him. I don't think he's got the attitude to make it, just look at this body language when he's playing. He's like a petulant child.

 at Brenny going round the houses to explain why he moved the great holding midfielder of our time. Imagine shielding your defence with a fella who couldn't track a parcel.

I hope Modric is ready for this sternest of tests.

Their only hope is Sterling. If he gets running at Marcelo or one of the two dope centre backs there's every chance Madrid will be a man down by half-time.

Tony Evans hosted the Times "The Game" podcast and lead a discussion about how to stop diving in the game after Moses went over very easily for Stoke.

Bet it would have been completely different discussion if he'd done that last year in a Liverpool shirt.

Of course. We get The Times and yesterday's "the game" pullout on the weekends football took the biscuit. QPR v Liverpool took the cover and the first two complete inside pages - three separate articles. Eulogising on Raheem Stirling's inspirational role in the game, how he bossed the second half "if he ever got the run of the ball with Liverpool on the front foot, then the havoc he could wreak would be truly terrifying". I thought at first our match report been left out completely but found one column on page 10....six lousy PARAGRAPHS. Id hesitate to call it a match report as Tony Barrett, the ex Echo RS reporter managed to merely make some weak, clumsy analogy between Ross Barkley and Joe Cole. Oh... and Leighton Baines only rated a lousy 6 off him while Im complaining. Theyd probably say these things even themselves out over a season...the usual mitigation. Don't hurt yer bleedin' selves, like.

In the podcast the brief bit they had about our game Barrett started off by saying the Barkley played the number 10 role and we looked far better. He then suggested that Martinez tried to be too clever for his own good, changing lineups, Lukaku on the wing etc and that going "back to basics" is what he should have done earlier in the season.

All this without without mentioning that it was Barkley's first game back and that perhaps we had to change the way we played given his injury and our defensive problems.

Lads you know Liverpool will beat Madrid, it's just what they do. There'll be a pen somewhere as wewelfor them. It's as predictable as their win over QPR was and Madrids sudden injury crisis. I see Azpilicueta and probably Costa will also miss the Chelsea Liverpool game. Just need Fabregas to pick up a knock now as well.

They get loads of this sort of luck every year. The end to last season and Jagielkas screamer went someway towards rederessing the unnatural balance.

Commenting on the new mural, one chap pondered where the 'ssh!te' saying 'the holy trinity' came from.

I'm not a religious man but. I thought the answer was fairly obvious.

However another chap put us both right when he revealed it was 'stolen' from a shankly quote. SMH.
