Danny will help in that they will have more than an uninterested Italian stick sulking around the penalty area. But even Sturridge is going to struggle without the service and defence bothering capability of Saurez. How good was Suarez? An out and out chump, but if ever there was a one man team in Premier League history, surely it was the 2013/2014 Liverpool squad.

Rodgers is just running the first team into the ground. Unfortunately Basel looked poor as well so a good bit of corrupt refereeing will probably see Liverpool win at home and scrape out of the group on goal difference thanks to Madrid thumping Basel.

With a bit of luck Basle could be all but out of sight after the next two games.

Madrid should beat Liverpool home and away and if Basle could do the same to the other team there will be a six point gap.

The Basel/Madrid game will be a dead rubber for Real so a point for the Swiss team is not out the question.

Plus I think they could easily take a point at The Pit on one of dem "special European nights" at der 'ome of der 'ed men.

I was half-joking. I think Sterling will go on to have a far more fruitful career than SWP, so long as Brenda doesn't ruin him.
