I've followed the thread all week with interest and find it poor that we as bitter blues see this one match the one that will decide the title or even our place in the CL. Palace fans whose team have been on a great run at the moment, or have we forgotten, will be thinking they have the best chance to effect who wins the league by beating the red sh**e.
Do I want us to lose NO Do I want them to win the league NO. No dilemma.
Come on Palace.

But let's face it, it's not going to end up like that. If City don't win tomorrow then Liverpool will win it and we won't hear the end of it.

people also forget that palace have beaten us and chelsea recently so they aren't exactly incapable of a result.

Can't see anything other than a liverpool win tomorrow but palace are as good as any to make them drop points

I think people are getting way too wound up over what Bobby said.

And I suppose those people who posited that the negative sentiments surrounding this game were damaging to us as a club are being shown to be right because now we have our own people criticising a manager whom has exceeded all expectations this season and whom has restored a bit of optimism in us all.

Me?

I think Bob is a master of understated irony. He is a sarcastic get when he wants to be.

And I interpret his words to mean "look, lids...you know we have to try and win tomorrow and that's what we will aim for....and if we do win and hand that shower the Title, then you guys keep letting them know the needed us to win it for them".

But come on....I am not wanting us to win tomorrow but let's not make this about Bob.

Palace have done what they set out to achieve i.e. retain their PL status, they've got zero to play for and an early goal for the RS kills the game imo.

Puncheon though mate, playing for a seat to brazil, most prolific goalscoring midfielder recently. Late surge and all that, plus i heard he hates liverpool and has been saving his best form for this game.......

No, it's not "ridiculous".

It is a position held by, I am now almost certain, the vast majority of Evertonians.

Now, Dave has gone right over the top in the way he expresses it but I don't think anyone should be calling people "ridiculous" for expressing it.

A bit of understanding of the other chap's opinion is required here is all.

:)
Vast majority? I have to disagree there.

Are you saying it's acceptable to want us to lose?

I don't think for a second anyone on here -- save for the lurking City supporters -- wants the team to deliberately throw the game. However, in this particular situation, it's just that the prevalent feeling is most of us won't have our weekend ruined by a loss.

I reckon it is a majority

And it's not about 'wanting' to see Everton lose, it's about the bigger picture and what will ultimately be looked back on as a relatively meaningless game for EFC could be the defining moment in a generation for the kopites.

Exactly.

It'd be like Michael Rickets in the England squad all over again.

Lets put it this way.....

If we were currently in the relegation zone today and playing City tomorrow, don't for one minute think the RS would be hoping for us to beat them. NO chance, they would easily opt for us to stay in the relegation zone going into the final weekend, regardless. Foaming at the mouth springs to mind. They would hope City slip up elsewhere

The RS winning this league in the fashion they have won it simply cannot happen. Every single weekend since their boxing day clash at the Etihad and Brent's finger pointing and whinging about the officials, has seen an unprecedented amount of good fortune regarding decisions going their way. Its honestly a joke and has been 4 months of ' make up sex' after a falling out.

Koff !!!! Just KOFF !

Always get behind my team and whatever happens this weekend, whether we get 3 points or get a thrashing, i will be grinning from ear to ear. Its a win win.
