No, it's not "ridiculous".
It is a position held by, I am now almost certain, the vast majority of Evertonians.
Now, Dave has gone right over the top in the way he expresses it but I don't think anyone should be calling people "ridiculous" for expressing it.

He's really misjudged the mood there though. You cant say you're happy with the prospect of helping your rivals to a trophy. It's not acceptable in football (any football, regardless of his own gormless belief that it's ok in Spanish football but not here...where he got that notion from I dont know). Local rivalries are taken very seriously.
IMO, he's been swept along with this debate and wants to appear as nice as possible concerning it. He doesn't need to be. He needs to be as professional about it as he can be and that's all.

Everything he said before that has negated thoughts that he would attempt to roll over. The way I see it, Everton will go for the win tomorrow but if we lose, then we can hold it over the Reds for years. No bitterness there, no desire for Liverpool to win the title. It's a lot of grey area but that's what it sounds like to me at least. He understands the situation far far better than what was expected by most after 11 months on the job.
