ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

In the poll in the Everton forum, it's 75% wanting us to win.

The ones wanting us to lose are in the minority.

That was then....this is now.

I have changed my mind and would change my vote if the Poll was being held today.

And I have a feeling a heck of a lot would be flip flopping right around now :bye:

Martinez: "If our neighbour wins the league then that is fantastic for them. If they can win it with our help then that is better than than not with our help".

Imagine Joe Royle or Kendall coming out with bollocks like that?

Blotted copy book Martinez. I just hope the players (especially the local ones) dont take his tripe too seriously.
Your negativity is astounding and tiresome now.

We wont miss Europe. That's almost impossible. One small step back that's needed to avoid falling way behind.

I can see the need to get the points if CL football was on the table. But it's not.

I think the ideal scenario is that we win the game, however we field an ineligible player which doesn't get picked up until after Liverpool have won the title, subsequently the FA dock us the 3 points at the end of the season and award them to City, thus making them champions and causing Liverpool even more heartache than if they'd lost the title in traditional methods.

Obviously let them go to the expense of a Victory parade before the announcement though.

How is it negative to point out the difference between the attitude of Martinez (which is unreal and insulting) with Everton legends who knew the score? He's been great so far. It's a pity he's decided to wait until this moment to let himself and Everton down.

He saying we can hold over them forever and a day the fact that they needed us to help them win the league.

I'd rather we be top of the table obviously, but in my book, wishing defeat on Everton is every bit as bad as the negativity you hated so much under Moyes.

I'd rather he said he would prefer an Al Qaeda XI to win the league than that shower.

I see it the other way around: the only negative that can flow from this situation is that an Everton result of any description helps our nearest rivals to accelerate away from us. Getting behind that possibility (however indirectly) is the bigger mistake.

No, I think you're wrong there, Dave.

Bob couldn't say owt else.

And we really can't expect our manager and players to come out and say they aren't arsed about winning.

That is our perogotive only.

And I speak as someone who will be doing a one man Poznan in the Bullens tomorrow night.

He could and should have just stated we will go out to win like we do in all of our games, and left it at that. To state it'd be good to give them a hand to the title is just insane. How many other clubs supporters involved in a fierce local rivalry would be happy about those inane words?

It was unforgivable.
