As would that lot, you wouldnt be able to move for "they threw bananas at Barnes, dont-you-know" platitudes, and the high horse they were on would blot out sunlight for eight hours a day over Walton.

I noticed that sort of talk on the wifes facebook account,as if 2 wrongs make a right they dont not by a long way,not where racism is concerned

They've spent the past two weeks trying to find dirt on Evra as their main defence for Suarez's racist abuse. To some deluded people - like Kenny Dalglish - it apparently does.

Sadly Matt that seems the way of it,all a bit sad really in this day and age

No, it's got EVERYTHING to do with the saga itself, not the reaction in particular. Say if the club had come out and said they'd talk to Suarez and deal with the situation fairly and appropriately, you'd still get people adamant that Suarez didn't do it and feeling the need to take it upon themselves to shout racial slurs - it's a special kind of idiot that sadly exists.

But they wouldn't have been wearing 'suarez is innocent' t-shirts. LFC are guilty of indirect incitement of racial prejudice.

Agreed seen that, but beforehand Liverpool fans and fans in the 80s were racist in general totally wrong, that fan could have been in any ground in country unfortunately was among however many people kop holds.Tit f highest order, well played to fans who pointed him out.

The ones around him you mean, who were the same ones who claimed that he said 'manc [Poor language removed]'. The culprit appears to have been identified by his address given when he bought his ticket, not shopped by anyone else.

I wonder if it wasn't a United player and someone from outside the SKY circle, whether it would have been swept under the carpet?

There was at least as much evidence when Emre did it at Goodison, yet that seemed to be dismissed out of hand.

"What were YOU lot doing during the 80s then?"

Some Everton fans apparently spent the 80s throwing bananas at LFC 'Racism Denial Officer' John Barnes.

As a lot of LFC fans are claiming that certain football disasters/tragedys are irrelevant to mention as a fair proportion of them were way too young (some weren't even born)...

And they never ever acknowledge what John Barnes himself said in Dave Hill's book 'Out of his Skin', that before Liverpool signed him, Liverpool fans pelted him with bananas when he played for Watford.

Well, what goes round comes round, and I for one am loving that this lot are being found out for the out-of-control rabble that we've known them to be for years (and now the rest of the country are waking up to it).

Fair play Dave. My thoughts exactly.

It ****ing frustrates me to my very core that most of them will never believe any of it though. I just want to MAKE them see ffs ffs ffs.

Another defence from RAWK that actually shows just how far their racism goes back.........

As somebody who has been going to the match for 50 years I am amazed how far racist comments have been crushed at Anfield. I can remember standing next to a black guy in the Kop in the 70's as "Oh we don't have niggers on the Kop!" was belted out. Nobody, including me I'm ashamed to say, said or did anything, as that chant was deemed acceptable, indeed a thing to be proud of!. The fact that one blert might have shouted someting something last night is lamentable, but it reflects just how far we as a club have come.
Our defence of Luis needs to be seen against that backdrop - we don't tolerate racism and we won't stand for injustice.

According to that Dave Hill book I mentioned earlier, they also had painted outside the Anfield Road end during the 70s "No Fenian [Poor language removed] Here" - daubed by supporters of a club that didn't sign an Irish Catholic until Donnie Osmond was terrorizing the charts.

I also remember my first Anfield Derby and seeing NF selling their Bulldog paper outside.

I'm not saying Everton fans have been pristine - far from it - but I've never (and never will) take lessons on 'socialism' and 'community' off those ****ing beauts.
