ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

People are saying 'he wants to play CL football.' No he doesn't just want to play CL football. He wants to play for a Club who have a realistic chance of winning it. We have as much of a chance of winning the CL this season as Arsenal do, and we aren't even in the competition.

This amused me. Arsenal are vastly superiour to Liverpool even without Suarez. With him, it would be a massacre

i think arsenal's changes of winning the champions league are vastly superior to liverpool's ha. just because they and their massive influence in the media believe he should be playing for barca and real, doesn't mean the actual clubs want him. He's simply not one of the best 5 strikers in the world, which is usually who these teams want

The whole 'why would he leave us for arsenal' thing is just a clear reminder of how ignorant they are to the fact that they are not a big power anymore

I've seen so many of them talk about how 95,000 thousands fans were singing YAWN (except if you watch it you can see that they only know the chorus, and even then it's hardly flawless) in melbourne as though that means anything.

Strange bunch.

Luis Suarez would be happy for the Premier League to step in and settle his contract-clause dispute with Liverpool such is the conviction of the player and his agent, Pere Guardiola, that they are in the right.

The League may offer to mediate in the row between Liverpool and Arsenal, and the player’s camp are understood to welcome independent arbitration stressing that both verbal and written assurances were given in the renegotiation of the Uruguayan striker’s contract last summer.

Guardiola maintains that it is Liverpool who have changed their position on allowing Suarez to leave for a bid of over £40m

£40m+ and Liverpool should be biting their hands off. I'm amazed that Arsenal are desperate enough to bid that.

Nice choice of phrase there..

I don't think there is any specific release clause that exists in English football which allows a player to leave if a certain amount is bid. However, there are clauses which allow players to talk to prospective clubs after a certain bid. I think that's whats happened here. Suarez can probably talk to Arsenal to try to sort out a contract with them (if that;s what he wants - personally I think he wants Real Madrid to jump in) but Liverpool can still hold out for a higher bid. I think anything close to 50m and he will be gone.

I don think the release issue is a league wide thing to be honest.... I thn it's an individual thing.
