ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Liverpool and the south end. Listen to any football phone in on Radio Merseyside and as soon as they say 'Barry from Hunts Cross is on the line' or 'John from Garston' or 'Bill from Dingle' or whatever, I know they'll be reds.

Everton are a north end club, and places in the suburbs where people from the north end were re-housed as part of the post war so-called slum clearance orders have a lot of Everton support in them.
Blood brothers?

City have a chronic record at the tinmine. In all comps they’ve only won twice there since the mid 50s. This game isn’t going to cause the title swing the media are trying to suggest it will.

City are in form and sweeping teams aside, the kopites are losing at home to lower league teams. Even if City don’t win the league, it won’t be because of the RS.

Erm, many people from those areas were proud of their places. My own family being one. They wouldn't take too kindly to being described as slum dwellers. The blitz made many of then slum-like and the Kingsway Tunnel finished the others off.

And the 'decanting' of people form those places to the outskirts was charmingly called "slum-dumping" by the press at the time.
So you lived there? If you did you will know that the houses in Kirkdale were slums. Not sure what the tunnel has to do with it as not in Kirkdale. Carry on. Sorry for going off topic.

The RS Twilight Zone doesnt seem to realise that this new hero Thiago who they deified immediately has been a major component of their current slump. Given they are still exaggerating his talent, its clearly like "the Kings new clothes as hardly any of them has the guts to acknowledge the fact.
Thanks to the skewed media the whole myth of their club is basically the Emperors new clothes played out year after year.....
Shame there's no 'child hero' figure who doesn't mind bullets in the post or getting offered out at their local Lidl carpark to call them out for it.

Blood brothers?
Scottie Road and Walton are Blue. Netherfield Rd and......unfortunately due to history, most of Everton are RS. I used to listen to Radio Merseyside in the 70s and 80s. They had a phone in on Saturdays after the then normal 3pm matches.

The amount of times I heard " hello where are you from?" "Everton ". Who do you support?" "Liverpewl"
