ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Klopp is a doctor now, he’s just said they could play in Germany without spreading the virus.
Now forgive me if I sound cautious, but if I was German I wouldn’t want any one visiting my Country for a game of football, especially those from UK.
He's all things to all men, this is just one example. To me, he's all kinds of knobhead - that's another example.

Also I'm probably overthinking here, but we tend to have more supporters in the North End where people were moved from Scotty Road an Irish enclave , places like Crocky, Noggsy, Dovecot, Canny Farm, Fazakerley, Kirkby, Netherton all have more Blues than in the South End.
Liverpool and the south end. Listen to any football phone in on Radio Merseyside and as soon as they say 'Barry from Hunts Cross is on the line' or 'John from Garston' or 'Bill from Dingle' or whatever, I know they'll be reds.

Everton are a north end club, and places in the suburbs where people from the north end were re-housed as part of the post war so-called slum clearance orders have a lot of Everton support in them.

Klopp now claiming had 2 weeks off when our match got canceled. They played 4 days after.

He's lost his head. They're going to fall down the league while he self implodes.
Maybe he forget the easiest of easy Christmas / New Year schedule they had not to mention the easiest in January as well?
He's an expert on everything: Football. COVID, Brexit, you name it. He really is an absolute bell end.

The reality is they were very lucky previously with injuries, almost freakishly lucky. Of course they were all saying then "great analytics, superb scouting, you can scout for injuries, superb training methods, Bayerns physio makes all the difference" etc. So when it went well, it was systemic and not bad luck.

Now there is some mean regression and it's just "bad luck". So when it goes well it' down to Liverpool doing well and their responsibility. When it goes badly, it's nothing to do with them. It's another intellectually incoherent way to construct an argument.

Even on injuries (which is dubious anyway for reasons I mention below) what has happened is quite clear. You have a manager who only knows how to play a high intensity game plan. They have prioritised keeping the squad together and its aged together. It's gone from being around the mid table for age profile, to now one of the oldest teams in the league (they sit top 5/6 the last time I checked). Next season no doubt they will be be even older. Essesntially those players, cannot sustain his game plan.

Whats also clear, is they have no plan B. All you get from all of them is, "oh why don't we just go back to the attacking thing we were doing before" and you think- because it's not working, it won't work going forward and your players can't sustain it anymore. You look at Pep for example, who had a similar injury crisis last season, he recognised the league was gone, took the year off and developed a completely different way of playing- essentially eliminating the need for a striker. It's smart management. Klopp doesn't have that in him. It's why Pep has all the trophies he does, and Klopp doesn't.

Worryingly for them, even their younger players look shot. This is the other side of it. Not only can't they sustain what Klopp wants, but they are starting to get injured, and where not enough concern was taken in letting them rehabilitate, they are starting to break down. You see it Fabinho now, he will now quite quickly become injury prone. Posh boy Chamberlain is another, Keita, Gomes, potentially Arnold etc are all now very injury prone.The damage is done whoever is manager.

Anyway, why injuries is rubbish too. On Wednesday they had;
The best fullbacks in the world
The best midfielder in the world
The best ayer in the world (Thiago)
Their first choice midfield they all wanted
2 of their first choice front 3 (who are also the best in the world).

Essentially stick a centre back next to Henderson and have Mane playing and it's basically their best outfield 11 give or take.
Spot on that.

And, yeah, Klopp cant play any other way than 'Heavy Metal football' - AKA kick and rush when other teams adopt it.

Guardiola will end up with 3 of the last 4 PL titles come end of May. That's because he can create a dynasty; he doesn't shatter his players with a couple of eyeballs out effort seasons and then sit in a corner rocking himself and sucking his thumb for comfort trying to understand why that approach wont work for more for than a short while.

As the old saying goes: in the end 'brains will always baffle BS'

This is true this, but i think a lot of it might go back to the religion influences of both clubs, wasnt there notrh end mostly Catholic and the south end Protestant and more relevant to Liverpool an area popular with the Orange Lodge, obviously im going way back

Think that overstated his influence a bit. They continued winning for a while after he got injured.. they coped well with Fabinho dropping back and Jota coming into the side.

As I've said before, they've got bigger issues:

- Mane, arguably their most important player, has been in-out-out of the side and they always seem to struggle without him;
- Jota got injured right in the middle of a purple patch in front of goal;
- Fabinho can't seem to say fit;
- Firminho's & TAA's form has poor;
- Tiago isn't quite the world-class baller they expected him to be this season;
- They're looking a bit tired in general and their bench hasn't been inspiring them.
.
I do wonder if the RS will call it a day when VVD hangs up his boots. They clearly don’t think that football is possible without him.

In the south end, Toxteth, the Dingle, Garston were Orange strongholds; then again Kirkdale and Everton (certainly Netherfield and St Domingo) were also Orange strongholds in the north end. Vauxhall and Scotland Road were like a town within a town: I think there was well over a hundred thousand living in the north end dockland area at one point - overwhelmingly Catholic.

No way is Thiago better than the Fonz.

Ayyyyyyy!

That no mark Warnock trying to paint a positive for the Citeh game, basically saying the City style will suit the RS more than the likes of Brighton.
That may be true, but if Brighton and Co can beat them and more importantly create quite a few chances then I can see Citeh tearing them a new one, I can see 5-0 or 5-1, something like that.
Are you saying that City are no Aston Villa? :D

I recommend a good book on this general topic; Liverpool’s Old Firm.

Available on Amazon and I’m sure good Scouse bookshops ;)
