ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

3k tickets returns according to a notable fan on twitter

Booing

Leaving early

Thought this is what the "blues do and not us"

Shows who they are compared to us and how we have stuck through thick and thin.

Fifth in the league too, fickle, abject fans.

…..the model is fine when they’re doing well but as soon as they don’t the tourists stop going. Locals get used to not going, they watch every game on TV, usually in the pub so they’re not taking up any spares.

I remember the Hodgson era and they literally couldn’t give spare tickets away.

Looking at Real Madrid the other night. The guy scores from 60 yards out, and the crowd are more interested in taking selfies! If that was Everton the crowd would have gone mental. I feel sorry for the die hard supporters of these tourist clubs (not Real Madrid they've always been manufactured) it must be rubbish going to the ground with a load of people who know nothing about your club.

….half/half scarfs are the giveaway, tourist memorabilia from the game they went to.

I remember reading that RS have the greatest number of season ticket holders with postcodes over 100 miles away than any other club. Many of those own clusters of tickets they sell to tourists, making an absolute fortune when demand is high.

Many of the locals only want to go to the "big games", then spend their time criticising the fans not from Liverpool who go to the lesser games.

The last Daglish era was the same, couldnt get rid of tickets

I knew the future of mankind was at the beginning if it’s downward spiral into entropy, and mass extinction when I witnessed the advent of the selfie stick 🙄:

I don't want to go back to hooliganism but I do miss football being about people who wanted to watch football and support their team rather than some sort of "experience" like going to the theatre. You could decide on the day, pay on the gate and it would cost you so little it wasn't a consideration. Italia 90 is credited for popularising football again for the neutral but for me it was the beginning of the end, and the game has been ruined by greed.
