It is easier for them. Always has been. Officials want to give them decisions, it needs to be absolutely cut and dry against them before they’re not given the benefit of the doubt. They hardly get ones against them, they get a staggering number of pens for them, they’re hardly ever down to ten men but regularly end up playing against ten. The Spurs game is a prime example, you look how difficult it is for City to win there yet Liverpool get a red given for a nothing tackle by Simons and go from getting battered to being gifted a difficult three points away. We’d never get that given for us, Arsenal wouldn’t, City wouldn’t. Them and United get decisions no other team in the league get.
That’s why I have no time for people who say Peo and Klopp’s teams were neck and neck. They weren’t. Pep’s team were a lot better but had to overcome obstacles every single week to win those titles. Klopp’s teams turned up and any game they struggled in there’d be an officiating gift and another three points.
That’s before you get into the amount of players that make convenient ‘accidents’ agains them. Silly back passes, ridiculous penalties incurred for leaving a leg out, blatant handballs for no reason whatsoever. The amount of absolute stupid errors that occur against them is just unbelievable. Then the next week you’ll see the same team put in a faultless defensive effort against City or Arsenal. Just absolutely reeks.
