ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Dave are you Scottish ? You seem to have such an affinity/interest with certain Scottish teams.
Ha Ha. No mate.

I have no more interest with Scottish football than others.

I know however that there's been two football clubs in Britain who have flirted with fascism: one are Liverpool and the other are rangers.

rangers obviously had a sectarian signing policy in place for years and their fans are associated with extreme hard right / fascist organisations even today.

Liverpool had a sectarian signing policy until 1980 and many / most of their club directors had connections with the Liverpool Working Mens Conservative Association - a grass roots sectarian organisation that gave the straight arm fascist salute in meetings and had links with fascist groups prior to the Second World War.

Didn't know that mate.

Funny (ironic) story about LFC is that a feller called David Maxwell-Fyfe (Tory politician of course) was a Liverpool shareholder/director/club solicitor and he played a part in prosecuting top nazis at Nuremberg after the war...he sealed Goring's fate for one...his fellow directors might have felt a bit nervous given their own fascist leanings!

Also: Liverpool FC toured Germany in 1945/46...the first football team allowed into the place...to play army teams. The club weren't paid cash for it but they did get reels of red cotton which the nazis had been making their swastikas out of and LFC made their own kits from them.

In a book by John Williams that was mentioned - who had access to LFCs minute books.

They're one of the most ghoulish and sinister clubs in world football.

While I would rather that not happen - he's averaged 30 goals per season in all competitions for the last 8 seasons- he is going to slide in the next season or so. They could get caught on a long contract and he might be more susceptible to injuries gibe his age.

Then again, this could be LFC PR machine using known arse wipes like Joyce to deflect from Arsenal's game. They hate being being ignored.

Even more so if Villa do it... But that's a long shot.

Let me ask you this, Dave, since you also follow Celtic in the Scottish League.
A fan got this tattoo:
bgxatlacmamahgy-large.png

The inscription reads: ‘I’ve always said that you can live without water for many days, but you can’t live for a second without hope.’

Like a super creepy love sonnet to Brenda Rodgers. Without any context, is that a Celtic or a RS fan's tattoo?
Feckin 'orrible whether RS or a Septic tatt. Sorry to those with certain sensibilities but, really, who would have a tatt of chappy lips on their body?

UEFA probably have completely separate planning profiles for finals involving them and not involving them. Riot police, tear gas, unannounced bus routes and timings, temporary fencing, steward segregation in stadiums, wider police ramp up across the entire city, all in the playbook when that lot are at a final. There’s a completely different playbook for every other team.
Probably spot on that has to be

What a magical European nightgown the real red men Arsenal.

Dispatched the European royalty there unlike any 2nd rate red men.

Just need Villa to step up and the story of this season could be a clash of a team that could potentially dominate for years in Arsenal or the rebirth of Villa as a European powerhouse under a willy manager.

I'm almost as jealous as a kopite seeing that happen for them and not us.
