The taxi drivers do that in Belfast for the terrorist murals, not much difference thenLike an atrocity ghost tour.
The thing that upsets the Kopites most of all about this Newcastle takeover is that if there's one team in England that have a willing cult in the media to stroke them in the way they are it's Newcastle.
Geordie Nation trumps Scouse Not English every time.
If anyone remembers the 90s with Keegan, Ferdinand, Asprilla, Ginola and the rest of the over-rated clowns of that period - being willed to win a title - they'll know what's coming next.
This is a strange thread for you to be in then. It's a mad thread this, we want their best players to leave so that they're crap but we also want them to stay so they go bankrupt. They're skint but also they spend loads of money.
Can't get my head round being that arsed about them and everything they do, and my 2 lads support them ffs. Completely ignoring them has worked for me up to now (the RS, not my lads).
I seen the E*h* piece the other day trying to calm the Kopites down by saying it was Everton rather than Liverpool who'd be affected by the Saudi takeover at Newcastle - the theory being they're established and will bag similar massive investment when FSG sell up.They seem to have taken this Newcastle thing very badly.
I said the other day to our resident red, if it comes off (as I'm not sure it will) it will be United and especially Liverpool who will be hit. Chelsea and City have the backing to keep the big spending going. United have a much bigger better operation (and big cash reserves) but Liverpool look vulnerable (United do too to a point).
I wonder if it's a rare moment of clarity for Liverpool fans this. Will be very funny if they start making waves for Salah, pretty sure I saw in the economist they want to tap him up for a Bosman.

We'll wait and see on that. But Liverpool supporters are as much concerned at the threat to the way they position themselves: as a club that transcend football. Any club that threatens to match or supercede that identity (especially in England) will drive them out of their trees. The Geordies have that BS stuff down pat (it's all they've had to keep them gong for decades and they lean on it big time). Watch the Kopites struggle badly to contain their fury at another club spouting the phoney 'more than a club' line - with an army of willing propagators of that nonsense in the media - AND becoming a competitive threat.
For the rest of the PL the Newcastle takeover is a pain in the arse we'll all have to deal with, but for the Kopites it also represents a terrible challenge to the identity they've nurtured for decades.

I mean that just sounds a mindless peice by the Echo.
The owners could have already bought Liverpool when it was cheap and they had no interest. I suspect a poor ground, in a poor area, and too much competition prevented them. They are now unlikely to want to pay the FSG asking price, or anything approaching it.
In honesty, we are more likely to get said investment if/when new ground comes along. That's the sort of capital project they are interested in (ah la City). Still a long shot mind.
FSG also have no intention of selling. They have gone into league with Red Ball capital, and it's clearly a long term view for doing so. Complete un utter lunacy.
As for the effect us on the pitch. If it goes as certain plans suggest, they just replace one of the top teams. You currently have the best team in the country- City, best team in Europe- Chelsea, biggest club in the world- United, or Liverpool. It's easy to see which teams place they take.
That stadium of theirs is being reconstructed for a future sale. FSG have obvioulsy looked at increasing capacity to a point where they stand some comparison with the stadium capacity of their competitors. But that's at best two seasons away. After the failure of the Euro Scab League FSG wont hang around too much longer after that. The big plan was always to get massive increases for the rights to broadcast Liverpool games and that's failed. Their problem in selling up, as I see it, is the fans. No potential owner will see that lot and want part of the volatility they bring. One or two seasons out of the trophies and they'll cause trouble for any owners. FSG only came in on the back of not being Hicks and Gillett and as heroes to the rescue...and even they're getting grief now after a poor season and no spending. It's a poison chalice. The Geordies are just as volatile, but the Saudi/Staveley takeover up in Newcastle hands them, for now, the same fan leverage after Ashley.I mean that just sounds a mindless peice by the Echo.

The Euro Scab League would be the answer to that? And sponsorship for inhalers of course.Liverpool is a maxed out asset. Any prospective buyer has to pay an eye watering price for a club that’s as good as it will ever be. There’s no scope to work on the stadium, there’s no levers left to pull on revenue, and yet all the time the fans demand more and more spending and success.
Newcastle (similar to Everton) only have an upside as long as they avoid relegation . Moshiri and the Saudis have picked them up knowing that they can return them to Europe and massively increase commercial revenue to increase the value of the club. I can’t remember how much Moshiri put in but I’m willing to bet that the value of his investment has increased hugely and he’s not even moved us forward yet.
one of the biggest rivalries in world football, just like their one with United, Chelsea and CitySomething must have happened because they hate Newcastle now ?
