ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Oh Gerrard is defo a political animal - no question. He knows power doesn't reside in the boardroom at Liverpool.

FSG would swerve if possible.

That's the cavaet for Gerrard. I think FSG will want a yes man, who will do as told, and allow their committee to take preacadence, essentially a coach. Ljinders fits that. That will allow for cost cutting to occur and a re-balancing following the Klopp extravagence.

Ljinders will be awful though, as I said yesterday, Gerrard (and Dalglish) will be lurking around like a bad smell, trying to worm their way in.

I presume this is on top of what they are already losing?

Would be an implosion of Leeds proportions that.

No CL
Massive wage bill
Main stars hitting their 30's with little resale value, esp with Covid
A few big players with 2 years left on their deals (can they afford wage increases with no CL and losses? Will players sign with no CL?)
Will players demand to leave? Esp Salah, Mane, Fabinho, Van Dijk?
No money to invest in new players.
About £50m still owed for Jota/Thiago

To add to it, Klopp's probably gone too, Gerrard will be coming in to a completely new project focused on youth I bet

Yes from the outside it looks it. The fact the Echo are running alarm articles shiould be of concern.

I would love them to implode like Leeds did.

Was reading our thread in Rawk last night to see what they are coming out with now.

One of them said we should be ashamed of ourselves because our media team didn't send our condolences to klopp for his mar.

They are just victims down to the very core aren't they, pathetic club. Hope kloppy stays and get himself sacked after doing major damage to the squad this year, just like he did at Dortmund the utter bellend that he is
Not to point score but I didn’t see any comments from their media team when Dai Davies passed on Wednesday

Gerrard's M.O. at Rangers has been a passive aggressive stance with his board: get a little cash, but always positioning himself as having to be disciplined where money is concerned. A company man. He's a stranger to that scene, but he knows that approach suits Rangers' culture - where deference is demanded (and tolerated by the Rangers fans).

Liverpool is a different kettle of fish on that score, and he would outmanoeuvre FSG amongst the fans, the media and the commentariat.

If you were FSG yould avoid him. However, they might face no alternative if the Liverpool base are fired up for it. It's almost Trumpian.
