I might be reading what you put wrong mate .But we have been a in the top flight unbroken longer than them ?.
I could be wrong, as my memory plays tricks, but at the time, I'm pretty certain it was Coventry and Arsenal* who had been in longer than us. Obviously Coventry have been down a while so we'll have since overtaken them.

* of course Arsenal bought their way into Div 1 after the cessation of WW2, at Spurs expense, so their record doesn't count. Spurs were relegated having being bottom in '39. The incident was the start of the hatred between the clubs. The FA decided not to start in '45 with any promotion or relegation having happened so Spuds would have stayed up - until the Arse started waving the notes.
@Yid4life probably can confirm this miscarriage.

Coventry were promoted to the then 1st division in 1967 so they could well have one of the longest running unbroken spell in the top flight, still an absolute nothing club that I really dont like

Coventry went up in the 70’s

zenith fans welcome their team bus with flares.now thats a welcoming parade not a load of fat lads in their full kit waving a few scarves.

Those Russian lads are mad for it. I remember being in St Petersburg and out of nowhere a huge steam locomotive comes bundling down the main drag emblazoned with the Zenit logo. Absolute mentallists - and all the locals were just laughing about the lads having a bit of a laugh on a Saturday night. I get the impression that most Russian teams have fans similar to that as well.

Pretty much that. They couldn't get anybody to watch them in the second home of Woolwich after moving from Dial Square (Isle of Dogs) and after a failed attempt to merge with Fulham they decided to squat in North London. They then made a few backhanders to get the Gillespie Road tube station renamed Arsenal to make it appear that they belonged/came from there.

As for their moody promotion.

Klopp was quite tetchy in his press conference today, got to admit I chuckled when he said to the press " what do you want me to say, I can't write your articles for you, you need to do it yourselves"

Quite a good put down that

Oh right, WW1 then and the arsenal got promoted despite only finishing fifth before the war! Unsurprisingly, the rs were involved, corrupt, manipulating bunch of melts even back then.
