Not counting basket cases like Charlton and Coventry, they have to be the least ambitious club in the entire Football League. They come up every few years and trouser all the Premier League riches and immediately bunker and play terrible football until they go down again.

I always have a soft spot for a club's fans when they're badly run and their fans still stick with them. And Coventry and that whole stadium drama certainly gets my sympathy.

I caught an interesting comment on the car radio before the Schalke v City game about German fans actually supporting Bayern , apparently they usually all hate Bayern , because “ of the hype surrounding Liverpool” . There was a brief debate about how far it extended, but it was apparently the case. You have to admire them and their ability to unite a country against them. I wonder what the “Most hated Club in Europe “ trophy looks like. And they think it’s just down to bitter blues and Mancs .
Being a complete WOOL and living near Norwich the hatred I had for Efan Ekoku is unparalleled.
