I’ve always quite liked Coventry. To be fair, 34 consecutive seasons in the top flight is some achievement for a club of Coventry’s size.

I always have a soft spot for a club's fans when they're badly run and their fans still stick with them. And Coventry and that whole stadium drama certainly gets my sympathy.

Coventry hardly "come up every few years". When they were last relegated from the top division they'd actually been in it, unbroken, longer than us, and they haven't been back since!

I caught an interesting comment on the car radio before the Schalke v City game about German fans actually supporting Bayern , apparently they usually all hate Bayern , because “ of the hype surrounding Liverpool” . There was a brief debate about how far it extended, but it was apparently the case. You have to admire them and their ability to unite a country against them. I wonder what the “Most hated Club in Europe “ trophy looks like. And they think it’s just down to bitter blues and Mancs .
