I was going to do a drawn out ramble about revisionism, abuse of the name of the city by attachment, the creation of a 'scouse caricature' in line with media stereotypes and propelled by the media and the hideous ghouls who follow the myth of the r/s. But we already know. We don't have access to the same platforms they do. Another but, they seem to be eating themselves now, beyond parody.
If or hopefully when they lose against Spurs they will make previous meltdowns look like a small hufty and my spidey senses can feel bans on the horizon ( bear in mind UEFA wouldn't want another year of all English dominance in European.competitions).

I stopped reading at that part.......I long ago realised that everything printed before the word “but” becomes moot.

Even when the acknowledgement is as mealy mouthed as Mr. Evans’s is.

Just to clear things up for his benefit.....without the rampaging Liverpool fans there would have been no Heysel stadium massacre, the unworthiness of the venue itself notwithstanding.

Their role in the tragedy was not merely “significant”.....it was the catalyst which led to it.

And yes, Everton were indeed denied a chance to, not become “one of England’s dominant teams” (we already were that, having just secured the Title and would lift it again two years later), but to really step up into the big time and win the European Cup itself.

And FYI my generation of Evertonians has passed that sure and certain belief on to its children in the next generation .....and that generation is already passing it on to an even newer generation coming through now.

You will never, ever be allowed to forget it despite the best efforts of LFC and the media to airbrush it from history.

You can shove your Madrid final and all the inevitable scenes of uncouth, loutish behaviour we are going to see on our screens in a fortnight’s time up yer jacksie.

We would not trade the noble heritage of our ridiculously underachieving but extremely proud club for the blood stained history that Liverpool and its moronic cultists have made for themselves in Europe.

The fella is chatting complete crap,fans getting battered is Kyiv,but he says Sean Cox, but lets not mention the rs rat seen with a hammer,forget about the waiter with a paving stone over his head,"always the victim is a wolf whistle to Hillsborough",we decide what other teams mean,we will throw accusations around when we dont get our way,hated because of their success? Working today with one of them redmen, he was doing ok until he said even if City win the fa cup meaning they will have won the treble, if we, he said win the Champions league we will have had a better season, he was a bit annoyed that I started pissing myself laughing, he was serious as well.

You should of said, how is a team that havent won the league for 30 years, beating a team that havent won it for 50 + years, a better season

I did bring that up mate but he said that doesn't matter it is an elite trophy, and it is the real champion's trophy, at that point I lost interest in winding him up due to the fact of the stupidity of that statement.
