Gee, sure am glad I don't lower myself to such levels of negativity. Knew we'd bum them.

It's not negative; it's descriptive.

Being negative would be saying "we're always going to be worse than the 90s".

Whereas...

Amazing what difference a bit of actual effort makes eh?

Delighted with the fans for inspiring it, but it's shouldn't be rocket science for professional footballers.

Lukaku is having a cracking game here.

To say it again, Rom is having a cracker.

Yeah, negative.

We weren't that bad in the first half hour.

The commentators made a massive deal of how flat the atmosphere was and how Arsenal were on top, sure, but they weren't creating much. Arsenal were absolutely flying going into this and we had 1 win in 10 so obviously they'd start quick. We were doing ok just containing them and they still needed a spawny goal to go in front.

Match threads are always overly negative (to put it mildly) during bad runs of form.

It wasn't wrong though; saying it is is simply doing what is ridiculous common on here - attempting to rewrite history.
Saying it was as bad as it gets, or the worst since the 90's, was overblown nonsense and you know it was.

Vaulting the match threads is hilarious, and in the absence of @chicoazul I'm doing my civic duty here.

Come on lad, take it on the chin, crack a smile even ;)

Was it rollocks.

The first 10 we were the better side imo. They then took control of the game for about 20 mins, without really creating anything and scoring a spawny deflected free kick

As bad as it gets my hoop lol

The Gaffer even said the first 20 were shocking, his words, shocking. Wind your neck in, dear me, one good result and you have forgotten what has gone before. Who's the bloody knee-jerkers now.

Who mentioned anything that went before? Who's forgotten it? Who's said it was anything other than a good performance and result?

So wind your own neck in, and the knee jerker is you btw.

Happy to assist ;)

I thought we were piss poor Paul first 20 minutes and that was down to no confidence whatsoever. BUT like you said they didn't create an awful lot in that spell they were on top and I mentioned during the game thread I thought we were excellent keeping Walcott and Chamberlain quiet, not many teams will do a job on them like we did. Baines and Coleman grew in confidence because they knew they had solid people in Valencia and Lennon in front of them which worked a treat the longer the game went on.

Valencia did surprisingly well, maybe he just needed the start. First 20 minutes was garbage; I'd like to forget that ever happened. Still have yet to see us play a great full 90 minutes aside from our only clean sheet so far this season.
