Just got done watching due to kids. Two passengers today, Lukaku and McCarthy. The team did well to win in spite of them.

Well done to:
Williams - terrible minute for their goal including nearly killing Gana but redeemed himself
Valencia - never stopped running and linked up well
Barkley - most good things seemed to go through him
Coleman - likes to turn up against Arsenal and I'm glad he did again.

And a mention to Stek for being aggressive at the end when they were lumping it in to the box

Koeman finally gets from the players what he has been preaching all season and it ends up with a win against one of the better teams. I only hope this does make for more performances like that and it wasn't only the players being up for a big game. Goodison was a library for the first 20 mins but what an atmosphere after that. It lifted the players so much to keep that performance up.

Going to be an interesting one that mate, you would have thought the thinking behind fully resting Barry was with the Derby in mind.

Can imagine training will be sharp on Thursday between those three. I assume Barry was rested for the derby but McCarthy's performance is a massive spanner in the works for Koeman. Good problems I guess.

When did we last beat arsenal?

Lukaku and McCarthy played well tonight IMO

The game changed when GP found their voice.
And GP found their voice, about 25 mins in, after a mid field scuffle for the ball saw three great tackles won by committed players.
After that, it was all over. When Evertonians get behind a team that's playing for them proudly, we're a massive force

This.

Started at the front by Rom chasing and others following in. Changed the momentum of the game completely. Maybe Koeman banging on about more aggression and pressing for the last 3 months is correct.
