...it's deja vu all over again

But...its not the same tactics nor system. I absolutely abhor the term 'philosapheee' but you can see this is how he wants his players to play. Even tho they were within a tit hair of 4th last season he decided his idea was more important than results, no?

But surely we got to that point last season using Martinez's style of play: more open, attacking football? The guys couldn't hang on to the ball for their life under Moyes (with the exception of a few games such as one against City in Moyes' last season); therefore i can understand why Martinez wanted to work on the passing game. We conceded possession time after time under Moyes, and his defensive mentality cost us points in one game after another (imo). So i still believe it's partly a confidence thing where at the beginning of this season the players stopped believing in themselves after a few bad results. That's not to say we don't need to strengthen a few positions as per previous posts. But as i said earlier i would give Martinez until Christmas. I'm sure he will think long and hard about his strategy during the summer and try to bring in players that can add genuine quality to the squad. If he doesn't do both, then i guess i too will say it's time for a parting of ways. But at the moment i think that's a kneejerk reaction because of the reasons i've previously stated.

Get players that can play the system properly....get rid of the dross that can't pass a flipping ball...problem solved

I can't argue with that one. Anyway guys, it's about two hours past my bedtime so am turning in now. But i'll still be a Blue when i wake up in the morning, for better or worse.

Oh well, European nights are over for a while. I'll miss them. Back to only playing Stoke and Sunderland et al.

But for a short time, of European adventure, I caught a fleeting glimpse, out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone , I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
....and I have become comfortably numb.
