2025/26 Dwight McNeil

If he plays like this every 2 or 3 games, we will get decent bids for him in the summer.

I think most fans are glad he’s playing well (clearly training hard), and it’s a great example to the kids who can’t get on as to what they need to do.

But i doubt he’s in any long term future planning, so maximising the money he/we can get for him in the summer is surely the primary goal for both us and him.

Slated him previously, deservedly so...

Credit where its due i was one of those that gave him a standing ovation last night as I thought he was excellent
Yeah absolutely he deserved it , I felt deflated when I saw him selected for Newcastle but he’s proved me and plenty of others wrong . Decent on Saturday and very good yesterday , it’s his place to lose until the end of the season .

Didn't see the game but by all accounts he had a very good game.

Let's keep it in context, it was against one of if not the worst team in the division.

We've all seen plenty of games when he has been atrocious.

So, thanks for last night Dwight and let's hope you still command a fee of £20 mill in the summer.

HE commanded a fee of £20m when he was atrocious, barring injury that will be the minimum we will get,if his good form continues, who knows, maybe a promoted club will chance a higher offer....

He's always been a clever player who gets slagged for not having pace, but that's down to asking him to play outside his ability. He's always reading the field and working to create and capitalize on turnovers. He makes some lovely passes and has the ability to score absolute beauties from shocking distance. Ideally he would play as an inside forward, but however he's used, he's capable of making things happen for the attack.

It shouldnt be as noticeable as it was but his first touch last night was always in the direction he wanted to go which gave him an extra yard of pace. It’s one of my gripes with the modern player how they need 2-3 touches before deciding what to do. Dwight was either confident or played with nothing to lose - either way he was brave in and out of possession hence the recognition and deserved ovation.
