It's an impossible comparison to make because of how Burnley play. It's not too far off comparing our players to City's. The numbers aren't ever going to line up well.

Hardly anything to shout about though is it? £120k a week for a 27 year old (should be playing at his peak now) The reason why Bernard isn’t getting much game time is Carlo obviously don’t rate him much. I like Bernard but he often goes missing and is inconsistent (like most of the current squad)

It has nothing to do with Bernard. They're asking McNeil to play deep almost as a wide midfielder with a ton of defensive responsibilities. He doesn't get up the field as much as a majority of teams wingers ours included. It just isn't an exact comparison because the positions are very different.

And along those lines I wouldn't sign McNeil because of how different we would be expecting him to play. I don't know how you can really decide if he can pull it off until after we've spent the 30m or whatever.

Lastly you must have a loose definition of "better players" if someone not in the top five of our squad qualifies.

Or put another way he's played 45% of the available minutes despite the alternatives in his position being struggling Iwobi, out of position Sigurdsson or moving our best player away from the place he plays the best. Also been yanked off at halftime twice. I wouldn't say it's all roses.

He wasn't injured the first time. He played 80 minutes three days later.

The second felt tactical to me since we were getting our behinds kicked.

Think he has all the attributes to be a top quality LEFT BACK for a top team

If you look at his attributes and the way Burnley play, he runs from deep positions with the ball, which in a good tema is usualy were the full back is.

I could go on. You make absolutely no sense. And I haven't seen any media hype around Mcneil only stand out games.

How about the people who watched Michael Keane who also played for Burnley, James Beattie at Southampton, Davy Klaassen at Ajax, Nyarko, Bakayoko, Cadamarteri or even our own Tom Davies within our academy? if my post made absolutely no sense then yours certainly doesn’t either.

Also can you name some stand out games McNeil has had for me please? And “stand out games” from an attacker in a team that often doesn’t even attempt to win isn’t a great barometer to judge a player off.

Your saying it's not worth watching Burnley as you would not get anyone that's a good player at a club like Burnley. If you feel a bit put out and want to start going off on all the drab we bought good luck. What you originally said doesn't stack up.
