Drop Arteta?

Personaly i always rated Davies, so wouldnt mind seeing him here but have to say i think if he was ever going to sign for us it would hvae been this summer when he was clearly up for sale. That said his form this season has been good. Many would have said the same thing about Carsely when he signed.

Anyhow Arteta is never a defensive midfeilder a centeral midfeilder yes but not a defensive. FACT
 

Is Moyes looking for a defensive midfielder though? Maybe he's looking for a deep lying playmaker who can distribute and keep the ball. The more you keep the ball the less time you'll be defending.

Our last two performances have improved big time with a ball playing midfield making things tick. Even with naturally defensive players like Castillo and Neville in there we looked alot more vulnerable.

Man utd won the League with Carrick and Scholes in midfield, neither are defensive midfielders. Maybe it's the way forward. It can certainly work if you get the right blend of players.

I look at our current midfield three and I personally like what I see. They bossed the game against Sidwell, Barry and Petrov, three very useful midfielders. I don't think the balance is as bad as people are making out.

Like Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Vidic, Evra, Brown, Ferdinad, Van De Sar, Nani, Anderson, Giggs.

Give Arteta a chance, hes only played in the centre mid role for a few games. Despite a few lapses (minor) i think he will make a great center mid. He might lose the ball but he is going to work his ass off to get it back. Cant say the same for ozzie most times.

I'm hoping that we never play an out and out defensive midfielder ever again. No one but [Poor language removed] teams has them these days, it's certainly forced us into playing a better brand of football. There we far too many frakenstein defensive mids in the English game that just did nothing but 'be destructive'. It became a bit of a joke position really. The Spanish style deep lying playmaker is definitely the way things are heading at the moment and I like that. I like it a lot.
 
The only way we will play better football is if people move off the ball instead of standing static with their marker.

The game against Villa was certainly exciteing but........................!
