Drenthe the enigma

I like Drenthe. He's got great potential and is wonderfully mental but there's no point in pretending he's a manager's dream.

No, i agree with you on that, but imo he's too good not to keep - unless he does something completely out of order. I think you mentioned earlier that you'd prefer we kept Pienaar. If it really came to a choice i guess i'd go along with that too, but i think it would be a great tragedy if we don't keep both. Without those two we have no real playmakers.

the guys never had an ounce of praise from moyes. i doubt moyes even bothers talking to him. funny cos moyes loves to sing the praises of other players who play **** regulary.

i missed the arsenal game because of work - but didnt he score that offside goal? was he that bad for the rest of the game that he wouldnt even make the squad for the next game?

Hope these rumours aren't true..

I like him, he's our only player that can create something out of nothing, he's a match winner and we don't have too many. I think we should do everything to keep him, although sadly I don't think we will.

Really?

I find this an odd statement.

Why?

I worded it in a slightly tongue-in-cheek manner, but the fact is i'm beginning to have serious doubts about Moyes' attitude towards players who have any individuality, and his ability to man-manage them, and i'm also beginning to wonder whether he has a problem with black players too - Yakubu, Yobo, Beckford..... and like others have pointed out, he seems to give Drenthe a rather hard time.

Moyes did the same with Arteta and Pienaar, the praises come when he is an Everton player....if he ever becomes one that is...

well r people going to get it into there heads ,moyes does nay like the lad ,come the end of the season the club will issue a statement that his wage demands r to big ,which trust me they r not,THE LAD LOVES IT HERE ,THE PLAYERS LOVE HIM ,99 PER CENT OF THE FANS LOVE HIM , BUT THE MANAGER SADLY DOES NOT

I understand what you mean, but look at Drenthe's past.

Shunned by Real, got in trouble at Hercules and now here.

We don't know what he's like off what we are shown, but I'd he's acting a tit then why would we want a player like that in our team?

We gave him a chance in the summer. Sometimes chances don't come off.

I take it you've not heard any rumours about him being sacked though fox?

Please, please, please say this isn't true. I love him. He's one of the most exciting players we've had EPL wise. Sort it Moyes you bad beaut.

moyes wouldnt cope at a bigger team where the players have even bigger ego's to go with their wage packets. unless they are mute robots then he doesnt want to bother.
if he is on a learning curve (moyes) then he needs to address his issue with players who dare to question him or have extrovert characters.

Shame. Have suspected as much for a good while.

Any news on the rumour he's played his last for us?
