What a weekend. I'm absolutely shattered and was strongly considering ditching the rain and the mud before Maiden to go back to the hotel. But then that's not metal.
So glad I stayed. Maiden put on an amazing show and the energy was astounding. 85,000 people gathered in the mud and the rain to witness one hell of a performance. So glad I was part of it and all going well, I'll be returning next year.
Halestorm were incredible and I think I'm in love with Lzzy Hale. Great energy, extremely talented, hot as hell and may have converted me to appreciating female singers in metal.
Disturbed. Wow. Huge performance from them. They absolutely nailed it and I wouldn't be surprised if they headline in coming years. The crowd went mental for them and deservedly so. They were so good.
Amon Amarth kicked things off for me, a Swedish Viking metal band. They were brilliant and I'll be looking to go see them again for definite.
Shinedown were OK, nothing special and the singer was a bit preachy. Temperance Movement were very forgettable and Nightwish were really good but I only lasted half the show because I needed a slash (not of Guns n Roses fame).
All in all an incredible weekend and I can't wait for next year.
