I'm a veteran of the old Monsters of Rock festivals at Donnington and others at Knebworth, Milton Keynes etc but a bit old these days for wanting to stand all day in a muddy field dodging bottles of p*ss with the tops off. Would love to be seeing Rivals Sons and Black Sabbath tonight. Iron Maiden tomorrow night, a fabulous live show, saw the first night of the current world tour back in Feb in Florida.
Mate, there are people in their 70s at Download, folk in wheelchairs, a guy on crutches with one leg. You're definitely not too old!

Such a great day again. Kicked off watching SPVDES on the Maverick Stage who I'd not heard of - great energy. Beartooth on the main stage were unbelievable followed by Atreyu who killed it. Sixx AM were really good and Rival Sons were decent. Megadeth slayed it and then a cameo from HHH for all you WWE nerds showed up to accept the first Spirit of Lemmy awards. Deftones were on fire and then Black Sabbath...Ozzy had a little break but he was on point with his singing and the band were incredible, major kudos to the drummer who did a 10 minute solo while Ozzy was off injecting or something.

All in all, another great day even with the horrific weather and the absolute mudbaths everywhere.

I saw Sabbath about 18 months ago and their stand-in drummer, Tommy Cluefetos, was simply incredible that night as well.
