Double Reading Swoop - Hunt & Doyle

Will not happen...not that I want it to. Not for more than £5m anyhow and it's going to cost more than that with Hunt having signed an extension recently and Doyle averaging almost a goal every other game last season, albeit in the Championship.

£3.5m a piece isn't bad, all things considered but no, thanks.

The 2 of them for 7 mill-ish yeah i'd take em,as said we need numbers and i think these are the sort of players that are in our price bracket.

Saying sign player x,y,z for uber money just isnt going to happen, plus DM has a good track record when signing players from the lower leagues.

If Moyes thinks they're worth it I'm more than happy to trust his judgement.

We haven't got huge amounts to spend & we need to improve the squad size drastically, £7m is not a massive sum for a pair of players with Premiership & International experience. They'd both jump at the chance to sign for a club like us & neither would expect to walk into the 1st team & would be desperate to take any chances that come their way. We could do a lot worse than those 2 for that kind of money

Stephen Hunts just been on sky sports saying, he wants to leave Reading.

The reporter kept mentioning Everton but Hunt wouldn't comment.

I can't see the players suggested as a way towards future prosperity.

I would rather go for Jason Scotland or that Blake character from Wolverhampton.

Scotland is far too good for Swansea, and I think the Welsh side may sell now that they failed in their attempt to get out of the championship.

We'd be nuts not to take both for 7M. Hunt is worth 4-5M and even if Doyle is a flop he's still worth at least 4M the rate that strikers are going now.

I've said my peace on Hunt, I sometimes wish he was a lazy player because then people would recognize that he has excellent footballing skills and isn't just a brainless player who runs around alot. Plus he plays best against the best the prem.

Doyle's 2nd season at reading was a bust but he didn't have Sidwell and got very little service the year Reading was relegated. He could be decent on our squad. At the very worst he'll help us get through the group stages in the Europa league and be a decent sub.

I wouldn't complain about bringing in Scotland in either. Sucks that he has taken (due to injuries) this long the finally blossom and is 28 though.

If we want to buy players this summer there will have to be trading take place. There is no doubt about that."[/FONT]

More on Hunt... Reading Manager Rodgers Won't Stop Stephen Hunt Moving Out & Up - Goal.com

New manager saying he wont stop him leaving. Also says that Doyle could be going to Wolves.

"I will always pay respect to players." Rodgers told The Reading Chronicle.

"Once you've been in the Premier League and have shown that you can play in there, it can be very difficult to spend your time in the Championship.

"It's not something new, I think Stephen was looking to go last season but decided to stay right through thinking Reading might go up."
