My favourite part isn't the fact his comparison is totally flawed but the fact both his names came over with the Normans.
On a none political note; Apart from having to fight a battle in the north then leg it down south to fight another. Contempory accounts suggest some of Harold's men fell for the - lets pretend to run away trick and broke ranks, bringing into play the Norman cavalry

Yeah but the toilet paper they had back then wasn't worth hoarding.
For those of more tender years it was shiny, similar to baking paper

I joined the civil service in the early 80s and remember the shiny toilet sheets marked Oifig an tSoláthair - (Stationery Office). They were like baking paper and nicknamed John Wayne as they took no @@@$!

We blokes learned to have a sit down at home rather than during work hours, although this was not an option for female colleagues.

Tell the youngsters that and they don't believe it!!

This is true. When BT was called the Post Office, they had exactly the same kind of paper and Im sure each piece had ‘property of Post Office’ or something similar printed on it.....
