The BIPARTISAN bill included increased border security. It just didn't include the wall, which is certainly NOT favoured by a majority of Americans

Most Americans support a combination of physical and electronic security at our borders, most Americans favor secured borders, and most Americans favor decreasing immigration. If you want to make this about public ratification, Trump got elected with immigration as his top issue.

You can diminish his policy objectives all you want, but it doesn't change the reality that they'll have to be addressed. And they should be, he's the POTUS.

Yes, they favour increased border security
They do not favour the wall that Trump wants (~61% oppose)
Yes he was elected (by a minority of voters) - god knows we don't need telling that, he reminds everyone often enough.

However the constitution doesn't imbue the office of POTUS with Sovereign power. He was presented with a BIPARTISAN (feel like that part needs emphasising AGAIN, because people clearly don't get it) deal which was in line with the views of a vast majority of Americans (and for that matter, in line with Trump's stated/claimed wishes) - increased border security and protection for DACA recipients.

Trump - like a petulant child who throws a tantrum and breaks the toys he did get given because of the ones he didn't - blew up the deal.

As a minor point, Trump didn't win in the states that have the largest immigrant populations: New York, New Jersey, California, Mass, Maryland, Hawaii, Illinois, etc. Pretty much Florida was the only state he won that has a sizeable immigrant population. So he got elected using scare tactics, motiving "Joe Idaho" and "Betsy Montana" to vote against a non-existent threat in their respective states. Not exactly a convincing ratification, at least to me.

That's because of the millions of illegal voters, don't you know? Without them, he would have had the biggest popular vote win in history

Or something

He's POTUS not king.

Obama had a lot of policy objectives, didn't see Republicans shrugging their shoulders saying, well guess we have to address them then. Congress is a co-equal branch after all.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that routinely-debunked ole chestnut from Trump's Wardrobe of Special Pleading.

Didn't LiamG say that the Democrats "import" hispanics into this country so that they will vote Democrat...Ker WOW!

Exactly. The hypocrisy of republicans calling Democrats "obstructionist" is absolutely STAGGERING.

Merrick Garland says hi.
Also Trump frequently stated that his wall wouldn't cost the US tax payer a penny as apparently Mexico would foot the bill so don't see why that policy plank slips down memory hole but the wall itself survives.

Not to mention a huge cut in legal immigration now seem to be part of the White House demands, it was always the subtext of Bannon's plans but iirc they denied that strenously during the campaign.
