Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Like I said, not a lot of places where I can be in the minority AND stick around to argue. So I appreciate the opportunity, and if you guys ultimately decide you'd rather not have the opposition around, to the extent that's me, I'll bail.

But I spent about 90% of the last year bashing Trump, and it's fair to say I don't have a home at present. I'm not moderate for the sake of being moderate, I just dislike Trump as a person while not entirely disliking some of his actions to date. Puts me at odds with nearly everyone.

Na, fair play to you for voicing your opinions. All I'm saying is that, in my opinion, there's a bigger picture/threat you're missing or ignoring. This is not a right v left, Cruz v Warren issue. This is above party politics. He is doing permanent damage to the office of president while eroding Americas soft power around the world. I think the economy is doing well and so is the war against Isis but these things are happening inspite of trump, not because of him.

Not at all. I love America. I find it sad that you now have this fool representing you.

Because outside of the US, that is what the POTUS is to the rest of the world. He is America to us. And it aint nice.
This is why many Americans, like myself, are so up in arms about this guy and his whole Administration. It's farcical. Except it's our reality at the moment

The innards of the workings in Washington are totally baffling to me, as are the main players. Never heard of them. All I am doing is trying to show the way an awful lot of Brits now see Trump/Merica.

Like my first realisation that Merica had a President was probably Jimmy Carter, or maybe Nixon. But every single one since has had the cloak of office fitting well. (Bush Jr not all ways, granted), but they were Presidents.

This joke is a Twitter troll.

Yeah, this is the crux of the issue to me. Nixon, while he was an absolute a$$, was a policy geek who was a tireless politician and worker. Jimmy Carter was a nice guy that was in over his head, but he was presidential. I may be in the minority, but Bush Jr I think really meant well, and believed himself to be someone that was a compassionate conservative that really did have the best interests of all Americans in mind. He wasn't the best speaker, but he was every bit a President.

Trump is just winging it. And it's obvious. It's governance by tweet. It's just exhausting

Racist, unhinged, philandering, corrupt, self-centered, narcissistic, Twitter troll, at that.

What's sad is most "twitter trolls" are well being trolls as in they enjoy being that way and causing a stir. With this clown i actually believe, he believes what he posts as in he is being serious.

I don't think I'm missing or ignoring it. I agree, it's a degradation of the office. But because he's boorish? Or because he's changing the power of the executive or some other significant thing? I think it's the former, and while I agree, I'm not sure it's some permanent thing that can't be cured.

And I'm not sure what America's soft power has gained us prior to Trump. You're right, he's probably eroding our standing to those in EU countries and at the UN and etc., but to what end? Pitch me on it if you want. I don't think Trump has managed North Korea particularly well, but I don't think he's brought us to any true brink either, and after all, it was Trump who was mislead (not purposefully) about where NK stood on ICBM goals.

I don't think Trump has any ideological basis whatsoever. I think him being a thin skinned narcissist explains about 95% of everything he does.

Yep agree on the thin skinned-ness and narcissism.

For his believes, he watches his favourite TV news shows. They tell him what to think and say.

1) I hate the ACA, so I'm against the individual mandate.
2) I'm anti-abortion, but I don't think Roe is at risk.
3) I'm against the estate tax.

1. Why?
2. Why?
3. Why?

I noticed you didn't address the tax benefit that Trump gets as a real estate developer.

I mean the R's have gone out of their way with one conspiracy after another about the Clinton's/Obama yet this repugnant billionaire is actually profitting from a policy HIS government has made. R's went on and on about Uranium One which was a vast nothing burger...questioned Obama as an American citizen, yet R's are just fine with Trump actually profitting from his own policies right in front of their eyes.

I just shake my head at the brainwashing Fox and folks like Limbaugh have done over the years.

1) I don't favor large government programs that restrict rights of individuals and which ultimately equate to additional entitlement spending

2) I think the practice of abortion as post-conception birth control, which represents the overwhelming majority of US abortions, is antithetical to a progressive country

3) I don't think I need a reason for the estate tax to exist. I've yet to see a good reason why it should. My default position is that private ownership stays private ownership unless someone can convince me of the just basis for making that not so

I'm ignoring your developer tax break comment because it's not some carve out limited to Trump or even people like Trump. People like me and many I know, who are far from billionaires, will benefit from it as well.

While I'm not going to argue with you about Rush and birthers and the like, you honestly don't see MSNBC and lefty journalists as the same? We literally watched them lose their minds this week when Trump wasn't shown to be mentally ill or otherwise physically unwell. How is that not the same level of absolute derangement?
