The one thing I do think is stupid, is this argument that the Queen will be relieved and it's a weight of her shoulders. As if she is one bit worried or intimidated by Trump. She is more than capable and has dealt with plenty of nasty leaders, and ones with much more brutal regimes than Trump. If anything she'd put him in his place.

I do think the meeting with the Queen was one reason Trump backed out, don't think his ego wanted the unfavourable comparison between what would likely have been a icily polite greeting and the Obama's 2009 visit. Especially on top of the likely protests and doubt politicans would have been warm either after his retweeting of Britian First.

Oh I've no doubt his ego was the reason he decided to postpone. No one will miss him one jot either and that's probably what annoys him.

But tbh I can't be arsed with all the faux delight that the event has been cancelled, it makes no difference to any of our lives. Let's also treat other world leaders who rule in far more brutal manners than Trump in the same way too.

Crazy thing is it isn't even a complete list - just off the top of my head there are his comments re Judge Curiel, the Khan family, Puerto Ricans being lazy ingrates, the retweeting of Britain First, Pocahontas, NFL players being sons of b...

All of us say things that when taken out of context can look bad and that is especially true for those that talk off the cuff a lot. But Trump is long past being given any benefit of the doubt that his comments were either not made or his meaning misunderstood.

I think that he doesn't see it that he said anything because in his own head he has a wonderful relationship with everyone.

He is derogatory and disparaging to just about everyone and then believes they still love him. Like what he said in that interview about have a great relationship with North Korea the other day even though that couldn't be further from the truth.

It's like how is administration explained to us all that we should ignore his twitter because they are his thoughts but not really. Like the whole speaking out loud without thinking it through mantra.

That and racism is ingrained in him much like anyone who has that 90 plus year old grandmother from the south who everyone knows is racist just because how she was raised and in the times she was etc... It's not right but how do you tell or convince her right?

The only reason I didn't know he was racist earlier was because the Central Park 5 thing is a bit before my time.

Voting in Florida is sure going to be interesting in 2020 with the influx of people from Puerto Rico after the hurricane and with it being the state with the most immigrants from Haiti.
