Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

I am not a Trump supporter, yet I would think anyone who is would find this thread incredibly hostile. A little less sarcasm and insult might just tempt them to do do so......
This is a fair point, insulting trump supporters is gonna strengthen their resolve and probably want to ignore any concerns they have about him

Hi lads and lasses, If anyone sees an irony meter for sale cheap I need one, mine has exploded after Peter's latest posts................

Indeed, people take these things personally. If I called all Clinton supporters ignorant and lacking empathy with the common man, they might perhaps get upset, depending upon their personal viewpoint. If I said anyone who votes for Clinton is an idiot, they would definitely get upset.......

I have reasoned with people who voted for GW Bush and for former MA senator Scott Brown, I almost voted for Gov Baker and wouldn't have been too upset if former MA Gov Romney ever became POTUS. There was reason to disagree with these people for some of their politics but I'd draw the line at insulting their supporters, it wouldn't achieve anything.
Trump is different. If you (not you Neil) still support Trump, I genuinely believe you have no issues with fascism, racism, misogyny or xenophobia. If you can't see whats going on now, you're either stupid, brainwashed or both. You are complicit with what happened in Charlottesville, you are complicit in the treatment of undocumented people who are afraid to seek government support in Huston right now, you are complicit in treason and the dismantling of our democratic system, and you have the nerve to call me a libtard snowflake.

I honestly think that some of you guys have lost the plot. There is no two sides to anything, no thought from another opinion, just raw hatred. I've always liked Americans and their intellectual rigour, but this thread stands testament to your undoing......

Sorry if it seems I'm singling you out, It's really not intended that way, it's just I pretty much always find something to question in your posts.

Do you agree with the pardoning of Shf. Arpaio, especially after reading the above?

If so, why?

Do you think pardoning Shf. Arpaio in any way legitimised the White Supremacists and Nazis present in Charlottesville and elsewhere?

I only ask as you cast aspersions on the views presented by others here, and I would like to be shown where I am going wrong. Please don't just point out the problem, help us fix it.

You see, here we go again:

I'm not that bothered about two siding anything really, I'm just disappointed that a people I once admired have lost a certain degree of reason. I see images of Trump with a Swastika, yet even the USA used to use it.....BEFORE WWII

For me it is an abomination, but the UK was bombed by b'stards using this symbol, yet now Americans are just throwing it around in connection with their president as if it were some clever insult.

I've not seen a single post in this thread that in any way is not an attack on Trump, yet even an idiot gets one or two things right, but no, lots of clever people pushing a single line and embellishing it with Nazi connections. America does not have Nazis,YES THEY DO, THEY WERE OUT WITH FLAGS IN CHARLOTTESVILLE you have nutters who are easily controlled, but whom you keep giving the oxygen of publicity. Nazis take over a complete country and invade and murder on an unbelieveable scale. NO THEY DON'T. THEY DID THAT IN WWII, BUT YOU CAN FOLLOW THE IDEOLOGY WITHOUT INVADING POLAND Yet the USA stayed out of the fight against these abominations, and indeed waited to see how it went, until Germany actually declared war against you, some two years after they started. I find this "we hate Nazis and Trump" to be a grotesque lack of understanding of these b'stards and a little bit self serving. I know what I write may feel upsetting, but truth and appreciation of absolute intolerance can sometimes feel that way. The day someone on here posts something even remotely in Trumps favour will be the day you regain normality. TELL US SOMETHING POSITIVE, YOU'RE BEING A BIT VAGUE. WHAT WE HAVE TO WORK ON IS INCREDIBLY NEGATIVE. IF YOU HAVE SMETHING IN IS FAVOUR, POST IT. START THE FIGHTBACK!! No offence meant, but I thought Americans were better than this......I'M NOT AMERICAN

Are you sure its not that Brexit and Trump are two sides of the same coin Pete? I've no doubt you want to ignore this reality, but Trump, and a whole bunch of other dubious people - Le Pen, Wilders, Putin, Orban, Kaczynski et al - all think Brexit's a wonderful thing and use the same rhetoric you yourself use. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck....

Interesting piece on the BBC today. Even if you take it as a hatchet job, the list raises eyebrows to say the least. Would it be as easy to compile a list of positive, even if not as spectacular, achievements?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address, entrants will not be judged on their level of Trump support.

See that's just a way of trying to smear a point of view, by painting it in colours of which you disapprove......

Interesting how much the United States has come to resemble places this like this. You could go through this article replacing "Morales" with "Trump" and scarcely miss a beat. But then, the US has always had much more in common with its southern neighbours than we are conditioned to admit.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...my-morales-order-expel-head-un-body-suspended

"Guatemala has fallen into deep political crisis after the president declared the United Nations-backed anti-corruption chief investigating him and his party persona non grata, only to have the expulsion order blocked hours later by the country’s constitutional court.

Jimmy Morales, a former comedian who was elected president two years ago after the previous government was toppled by corruption charges, was left fighting for his political survival – and freedom – on Sunday after the failed attempt to oust head of the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG), Iván Velásquez.

Morales announced the expulsion of the respected Colombian prosecutor via a video posted on his Twitter account in the early hours of Sunday morning. He also announced that he was firing the foreign minister for failing to carry out the expulsion, replacing him with an ally who is under investigation for illegal adoptions.

The announcements were made less than 48 hours after Velásquez and Thelma Aldana, the attorney general, asked the court to strip Morales of his political immunity in order to proceed with charges linked to illegal campaign funds allegedly received by his political party the National Convergence Front (FCN) during the 2015 election

Prosecutors allege that Morales has refused to account for more than $800,000 (£620,000) in campaign financing and had hidden his own party’s accounts. Morales, who ran for president under the slogan “neither corrupt nor a crook”, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing."

I do not believe that a President should be allowed to pardon anyone, I've said so many times in this and other threads. The law should be the only arbiter and it should operate independently from any executive........

With respect, that doesn't really answer the question.

Given that the rule exists, do you think it was a reasonable choice for pardon, irrespective of who granted it?

Do you agree with the pardon itself?

Of course it answers the question. Of course it is not a reasonable choice for pardon, because it shouldn't exist. I don't agree with any pardon of any person for any offence if it has not resulted from a decision by the judiciary.....
