So the media propaganda in full force again. YOU MUST HATE THIS POLITICAL LEADER BECAUSE WE TELL YOU TO.

After unelectable Corbyn is elected leader AGAIN (what a joke that all was), the media telling you to hate Trump and it gets eaten up again.

TRUMP WANTS TO DEPORT IMMIGRANTS FROM AMERICA

Queue all the muslims and minorities quoting in the media how racist that is and whatever else. Except the real story is ILLEGAL immigrants, so the ones who are in the country without any means to be. More importantly, he wants to deport the criminal illegal immigrants from the streets. Oh wow, Donald trump is a racist for wanting to at least get rid of all the immigrant gangsters/drug pushers / rapists etc

WOW

Do you want to throw a sexist remark in there as well.

I see, I've never been on facebook.

It's a depressing shitstorm of memes, syrupy life-affirming phrases set to nice photographs of forests and half-baked political philosophies. Nobody knows anything but think they know everything. If you can imagine something people want to hear, just put it in quotes beside the object of your attack

"I hate women, and the sooner they're put to work in industrialised kitchens and whorehouses, the sooner us clever men can solve the world's problems. Which are mostly to do with women"

A billionaire white man being called names.

Millions of people facing being kicked out of their homes, and their country, for not having the right documentation. Families torn apart, minority communities destroyed. A reinforced message to white america that they are better than these people.

If your sympathies lie with Donald trump in that situation, then I'm really not sure what that says about you mate.

why would that be relevant?

So its racist to want to (as leader of your country) to get rid of every single criminal that has no legal right to be in your country?

Really?

Think you will find that is already happening in America. The current administration has removed more illegal immigrants than the Bush reign.

It was Trumps words which could be construed as racist and even Paul Ryan a fellow Republican who is the speaker of the US house of representatives even said it was textbook racism.

I think it was all for show by Trump and he won't do the things of building a wall, banning Muslim's etc

What has that got to do with me?

and here is the thing. You have proven my point, you are buying up the media lies just like they want you to. Or at least the face of it all.

donald trump talks about illegal immigrants, you talk about families with 'wrong paperwork'. He mentions criminals, you mention minority communities. See the difference here? It is a generalisation of the point that is being driven by the media that all this is going to happen yet these minorities voted for him? From what i can tell from everything trump has said, anyone legally in america is fine, any criminal who shouldn't be here will be deported. But let me guess, i am also a racist for saying that? I am basing that thought on what he has said to the country, but because i don't buy into this lie that he is deporting anyone who isn't white it makes me a racist as well?

Oh and Obama did the exact same thing!!!!!! But that isn't part of the argument here is it? Doesn't get used negatively against Obama, only trump.

Agree, in the same way we in the UK didn't get the "Big Society ", we've not had overnight "hard" Brexit, and in the same way Obama didn't close Guantanamo in his first 100 days of office.

It's all for show. The media present it far more literally than I think than the vast majority of the electorate take it. Sure, you've got your nutter fascists and #notmypresident tweeting bigots - "I'm gonna type it for four years!!! - but for most, it's understood to be piss and wind.

Disappointing voting cycle but I also take heart from the fact that the human race doesn't vote this way time after time, which is what has made 2016 such a sad exception

Amusing comment by one of the contributors on Meet The Press yesterday, regarding the anti-Trump protests;

"Some of these people have genuine grievances, and others are just socialists"

I still find it amazing that in such a divided society, and after such a divisive campaign, the S-word remains the biggest insult.

But it isn't racism? Obama does it as part of his regime and it is fine? Trump says he is going to do it and it is racist? It is double standards all over the show here, just because one is a democrat and the other is donald trump.

And the words i relate to are the ones he said to the entire country,

"What we are going to do is get the people that are criminals and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers," he said.

"We have a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate."

He left the door open, however, on the fate of the millions of other hard-working immigrants in the country illegally.

"After the border is secured and after everything gets normalised, we're going to make a determination on the people that you're talking about who are terrific people," he said.

Just to highlight the bit at the bottom. Media bias again in the wording. Left the door open to the fate of millions of other immigrants has he? No he hasn't, who are terrific people was his exact words, so any immigrants who pay taxes and work will be fine in that scenario, anyone not contributing to the country won't be. Is that racist?

Because over here there is a similar argument about all those 'foriegners' who take our jobs and the whole hypocrisy of that as well. But again that is not really relevant because it doesn't support the argument eh?

The S-word as you so rightly put it was ultimately what did for Bernie Sanders. It seems to be a real trigger word.

Folks, whilst the election of Donald Trump by the electorate of the USA might be baffling to some/most/all of us not resident in the USA, there are some posts being made that are being viewed and reported to the moderating team as being - shall we say - excessive, or even borderline incitement.

Can we try and maintain a level-headed and civilised approach to discussing the merits/debits of Mr.Trump ?

What Andy said. We seem to be on the brink of throwing poo in here, and that's not good, no matter what side we're on.
