Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

...worth your time and consideration for the short Trump reference, which I pretty much agree with and goes on for a couple of minutes. Don't assume what you might hear - this is about a week old, and the link starts at about 2 hours 30 minutes in.

The brief Trump reference is followed by another twenty minutes or so not directly related to Trump. I suspect the mere inclusion of Dr. Peterson (or Joe Rogan!) may make some heads explode, but a fearless and brilliant man deserves some consideration, imho. His designation of our current situation as "chaos ballet" is very apropos.

The whole three hours (three hours!?!, you're mad!) is worth the listen, really. Two terrific intellectual conversationalists. Jordan Peterson is also a case study of what a Canadian accent really sounds like.

Have we seen the latest trump tweets ? Confirming He has an absolute right to tell the Russians what he wants for humanitarian reasons and to aid the fight against Isis and terrorism .

So despite earlier statements he know confirms it and almost certainly nothing will happen this is an absolute disgrace and should be viewed as such.

Trump tweets

As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining....
...to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.

Personally I do not believe the president of the United States or any world leader should be on Twitter or social media like this. He is an utter loon.

The only bonus is it might well be twitter that hangs him , if anything does . With trump everytime he's interviewed he hurts himself so the fact he tweets uncontrollably means he leaves him open to doing serious damage to himself.

Or given the GOP leadership maybe I'm just dreaming.

Probably. He is still much more popular than the Republican Party or any of its leading members. And nothing will happen to him unless they break ranks. Beyond Washington, he still hasn't really done anything yet that will have penetrated the illiberal bubble, to borrow a phrase.

Plus, for all the hijinks, Republicans appreciate the fact that he is a dim-witted lazy Fox News grandpa with no comprehension much less interest in policy, so he'll sign virtually anything that anyone puts in front of him - hence the health care and tax proposals.

It might be possible that taking away his supporters' health care and raising their taxes in order to lavish even more on billionaires might prompt them to reconsider, but the gerrymandering, voter suppression, and dark money is all in place now to shield the congress from these sorts of lurches toward democracy, and anyhow, Republicans have been pulling this same bait-and-switch for almost 40 years.

And it's also still doubtful that the Dems will bother trying to think of ways to make voters change their minds.

If for no other reason than it gives other countries, both enemies and allies, a real time insight into the workings of the President's mind - how he processes data, deals with stress etc.

That is a hugely valuable resource in general negotiations but particularly in a military situation (remember all the Kremlinologists during the Cuban missile crisis trying to figure out what the messages meant and if it was all a bluff?)

CNN was running this story with various talking heads before giving this story the gravitas it deserved , flick over Fox News and it had a story on a jeep malfunction and a youngster dying of caffeine overdose and I'm deadly serious.

Indeed but it's not exactly a secret he's a loon. But you are right it puts right out there his thought process which is highly dangerous and I'd say treasonous to the US.

this is why foreign ministers are starting to insist on meeting him in person - they can manipulate him into disclosing or conceding virtually anything, without even really trying. the trade deal with China, for instance:

Critics pan Trump’s ‘early harvest’ trade deal with China
President accused of being outplayed by Beijing as ‘gigantic’ agreement draws derision

“This is disappointing on many levels,” says Dan DiMicco, former chief executive of US steelmaker Nucor and a campaign adviser to Mr Trump who has long advocated a tough approach on Beijing. “We are rewarding China before stopping their massive trade cheating.”

“They got played,” was the blunter assessment of one former US official.

The “early harvest” deal rolled out on Friday saw China agree to resume imports of US beef that were suspended in 2003, in a move that US cattle ranchers hailed as “historic” but which Chinese leaders had already agreed to last September.
