I'm not sure it's that faint of a hope to be honest, especially if Trump keeps going the way he is.One major problem with an impeached Trump is that it results in a President Pence. He's crazy and scary, but more competent. Even if you hope the whole mess takes down the VP too, that still leaves us with Paul Ryan.
So, my current hope (however faint) is Democrats win the House back in 2018 and then the whole mess comes down on both Trump and Pence.
There is more energy and involvement on the Left than there has been since 2008. The couple of special elections that have run so far have been incredibly close, despite being in districts that Republicans traditionally take at a stroll.
It'll be interesting to see Trump's approval ratings after this Comey fiasco, would be a surprise if they weren't a new record low.
