While I predicted right at the beginning he would win, I am by no means a Trump supporter. This whole thing is a farce, Clinton still blames Comey for losing and the Democrats are twisting and turning over this. Trump may well fall as a result, but no one is looking good over this issue......
Clinton is right to blame Comey in part for her defeat.
The Dems are a bit a drift trying to find a direction,
but it's normal politics, unlike the car crash on the other side of the aisle.

The only way you can bash the Dems for their stance on the firing of Comey is if you believe that Trump fired him for his handling of the Clinton email investigation, do you?

Taken in isolation you might have a point - but it isn't.

Not only is sacking a FBI director a highly unusual event, the reason given is a transparent farce, the timing is weird and you are failing to acknowledge that the firing also means he has to be replaced by someone handpicked by the president himself....midway during an investigation into potential links by that same presidents associates with a hostile government who have quite clearly interfered in the process to elect him.

As it happens I still doubt there is any collusion, although Flynn/Manafort/Page/Stone seem almost comically shady so you can't entirely rule it out, but there has to be a fair investigation into it to dismiss it rather than just sweeping it under the carpet. That should be as important to Republicans as Democrats as otherwise this administration will forever have this hanging over its head, let alone it being best for the country.

Whatever else he was Comey was an equal opportunity pain in the arse to all politicians, if he was going to err it was usually to be too transparent with information and too "I'm above this". What are the chances that Trump nominates someone unbiased towards him let alone competent? It is possible, there a few in his cabinet that don't seem entirely yes men, but have to say the initial list of replacements isn't encouraging. Better the devil you know...

I agree, but the clever thing for Trump now would be to allow the Democrats to make the appointment....

Trump Says He Planned To Fire 'Grandstander' Comey 'Regardless Of Recommendation'

Undermining the prior rationale laid out by the White House, President Trump said he fired James Comey as FBI director without regard to the Justice Department's recommendation.

"Regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey," Trump told NBC's Lester Holt in his widest-ranging remarks about his firing of Comey.

He added, "He's a showboat. He's a grandstander. The FBI has been in turmoil. You know that; I know that; everybody knows that. You take a look at the FBI a year ago — it was in virtual turmoil, less than a year ago. It hasn't recovered from that."

Ironically "showboat"/"grandstander"/"turmoil" seem to be pretty key facets of Trump's own leadership style.
