Taken in isolation you might have a point - but it isn't.
Not only is sacking a FBI director a highly unusual event, the reason given is a transparent farce, the timing is weird and you are failing to acknowledge that the firing also means he has to be replaced by someone handpicked by the president himself....midway during an investigation into potential links by that same presidents associates with a hostile government who have quite clearly interfered in the process to elect him.
As it happens I still doubt there is any collusion, although Flynn/Manafort/Page/Stone seem almost comically shady so you can't entirely rule it out, but there has to be a fair investigation into it to dismiss it rather than just sweeping it under the carpet. That should be as important to Republicans as Democrats as otherwise this administration will forever have this hanging over its head, let alone it being best for the country.
Whatever else he was Comey was an equal opportunity pain in the arse to all politicians, if he was going to err it was usually to be too transparent with information and too "I'm above this". What are the chances that Trump nominates someone unbiased towards him let alone competent? It is possible, there a few in his cabinet that don't seem entirely yes men, but have to say the initial list of replacements isn't encouraging. Better the devil you know...
