The number crunchers in each campaign will now be getting a sense of the race, though they'll no doubt get an even clearer sense this time next week. Both sides will know before election day whether this election will likely be a small, yet comfortable, victory or defeat, a huge one, or a squeaker. We do not need to wait until the ballots are counted to get a strong sense of the race.
