Progressives are arguing that pandering to the GOP is ineffective, it's a strategy dating back to the Clinton era, during his 1992 presidential run and throughout his presidency he was always pandering to moderate republicans, it's continued since. In my opinion, this will likely have minimal impact on the election. A shift toward a more progressive campaign could have potentially hurt Harris even more. Who knows?
