Are you seriously trying to inform me that swing states will be close? I mean that's why they are called swing states. They are usually won with a point or three victory margin.

If Dems had wanted to win the mid West swing states they maybe should have picked Shapiro as VP, but he was too Jewish. They had to go for the wackadoodle Walz of MN.

Speculation and opinion? That's what 90% of election coverage is; polls, opinion, speculation and more polls. Much of what's in the clip is based on internal polling and vbm stats. Campaigns don't usually release polls but Halperin is basing his report on what insiders are telling him. It doesn't mean these insiders are correct, just the vibe Halperin is getting from them. That vibe is Repub's are sounding more confident than Dems.

Polling is expensive. Good polling is very expensive. Campaigns have bucket loads of money to throw at polling, newspapers not so much. That's why everything else being equal internal polling is more accurate than public polling. This is especially true with state polls.

Saw a poll this afternoon giving trump a fairly substantial lead in both Florida and Texas .

The polls are all over the show , further illustrating how close it could be . When she was announced there was a big bump for Harris but later polls seem to show it leaking away .

I certainly hope for Harris and I think she might judge edge it but it’s so tight lots of things in the next couple of weeks could tip it either way . As has been said many many times in heard by those more learned than me it really is about mobilising their base and getting them out there .

No doubt even more people would want to vote for Harris than Trump. Trump has done nothing to expand his base since 2016 let alone 2020.

The key issue though is that 2020 was a dress rehearsal for Republicans to steal the election. One would think they've learned from that. I fear what we saw in 2020 was the tip of the iceberg. I worry about boots on the ground voter suppression, in addition to what their elected officials and courts can do in states where they have a majority.

Hopefully it's not that close to matter. But hope isn't a strategy.
