They tried to have him killed. I'm legit annoyed at Trump for not making the most of the assassination attempt politically. Seems like a no brainer to bring in some high profile private security and start the mother of all twitter storms against the secret service upper echelons. This is a no lose issue for Trump. The 2016 Trump would not have let all this free publicity slide. I just hope he's biding his time until closer to the election.

Some probably are, some probably aren't. However, their influence on the election will be next to non existent in a Presidential election that will have about 6 billion dollars spent on it, most of it on advertising. I'm assuming this 6 billion includes superpacs, if not then the spending will obviously be even greater.

Edit; the supposed Russian interference in 16 was mostly bot farms which cost in the region of a few tens of thousands of dollars. Some of which was even pro Clinton. A drop in the ocean to the around 5 billion or so spent on the Presidential election in 16.

To be honest my confidence ebbs & flows somewhat, I'm rarely very confident about any election, especially one that will undoubtedly contain 'irregularities'. I'd say I'm quietly confident, and that Trump is in a far better position now than he was this time during the 2016 or 2020 campaigns.

What does fill me with confidence is that Trump is up against a certifiable idiot and someone with a very poor record as a campaigner(she may have a decent debate). The longer the campaign goes the more likely her idiocy will come to the fore. I have said previously that a campaign of mere weeks would have suited Harris best. A campaign of over three months may just be too long for her. I think Harris will make far more mistakes in the final months than she did in her first month. Her trajectory currently is down and this will lead to more mistakes and greater desperation.

I can take or leave this forum quite easily. Though it will be hard to lose all the kind friends I have made.

Completely agree about her needing a short run. The buzz is dimming and with emphasis on her politics from here on in, that'll ultimately be her undoing. Although I do think it'll be close.

Like the last few elections it'll come down to a percentage point or so in places like the upper mid West. She really needs to win Penn. The state doesn't have a strong record of electing African American females(no laughing at the back) in state wide races. And before someone goes 'ooh ooh ooh racism!' I'm merely stating a fact. It would be a bit like asking Trump to run for mayor of DC. No matter how well he ran it would be an uphill slog. Harris has the same problem, admittedly to a much lesser extent, in states such as Penn. She doesn't click with working class whites.
