His entire Presidency was based on a lie.

Is there a full clip of this?
I ask because nothing Biden says in this clip is incorrect.

Biden says "When the President was asked what he thought had happened, he said..."

So, if the full clip of Biden's speech specifically talks about neo-Nazis and white nationalist, then he was wrong.

If Biden doesn't attribute Trump's comment to those groups, then it's not a lie. Trump did use those words.

Do you think it is wrong for a presidential candidate to tell lies to the public?
I'm not naive enough to expect a politician to always tell the truth. I expect a politician to repeat his or her version of the truth, that their opinion of the truth may not be yours or mine. This is especially so when a politician is giving an opinion rather than a fact based lie. If you look at politicians as default liars way you will never be disappointed in any political figure.

However, when a politician intentionally misquotes someone as the basis for his or her entire Presidential run I do expect a competent media to hold their feet to the fire for such a lie. It's what separates a working republic from a banana republic. In fact in this case the media intentionally aided and repeated the lie.

Btw thanks for the pointed question. It's a refreshing change on here. Dozens of anti-Trump posters and barely an original thought between them.

The final sentence says 'He[Trump] in the same statement(In fact he said it in the next sentence) said that he wasn't talking about neo-Nazis and white nationalists, who he said should be condemned totally.'

So, we have Trump condemning totally the neo-Nazis.

Woah, woah, woah.

You don't expect politicians to always tell the truth, but for some reason you expect the media to? In an ideal world, sure, but you're not so wet behind the ears really expect this are you?

I appreciate this is wasted, but in my opinion what separates an actual functioning republic from a banana republic is that the latter has a large scale media and the former doesn’t.

The media - right and left - have long since (since WT Stead’s day) confused their opinions with what is going on / good for the country etc.

Yep, and if you read carefully, I have not disputed this.

What I'm asking about (and why I asked if anyone had a full clip) is whether Biden attributed the "very fine people" comment to being about neo-Nazis. It wasn't mentioned in the video linked, so wasn't clear.
