Again, nobody is really protesting about the fact he won - they're protesting to counter his ideology. They're two different things - these women simply don't want sexual assault and derogatory comments towards entire genders normalised in our culture; same thing with racism, xenophobia and so on. The insinuation was he could get away with doing whatever he wants because he's famous - so it's sexual assault, with the victim powerless to do anything about it.

I tell you what, I really feel for those brave women who broke their silence during the election campaign to talk about the assaults they'd experienced. Given how vengeful and petty the Donald can be, I expect they're pretty scared right now.

You can't grab women because you are famous, if he is reported he will be arrested. You are being sexist by assuming women are powerless and to weak to say no.

If you can read that and not understand why women around the world have mobilised today then I suppose there's no hope of getting the message through to you.

Clint, I like your posts and your passion mate, even though we don't always have the same views on everything, but (and I know you've heard this from me before just like I've heard the above from you):

The above is male bravado talk that goes on all over the world. I'm not saying that Trump did not actually do any of the above (rather than just talk about it) but I am saying that male politicians (and others) all over the world act in similar fashion and use their positions of power to act in a sexually inappropriate way. Infact I would say it is almost the norm with male politicians (which doesn't mean I agree with it or excuse it in any way).

There is something with Trump (maybe because he is such an ugly and coarse talking character) where he gets all the stick for what he says or does while other smoother more charming politicians get away almost scot-free.

Similarly, everyone going on about him surrounding himself with other wealthy businessmen etc for his cabinet - when has it ever been different (check Bush/Rumsfeld etc)?

There is no way I could support him while he hates and creates division with his talk but let's not pretend the other smoother politicians were or are much better....
