End of the day, isn't the American Dream to be surrounded by bootlickers like her who say you can do whatever you want, and hang on your every word? Or is that just the male version of the American Dream?
That's more powerful than any single Watergate tape, as a characterization tool. It says he is exactly who he thought he was. It says his relationships with staff are exactly what we thought they were. I think most of us didn't need the tape, but his supporters did. The question from here is whether his support recognizes the sarcasm in my first paragraph, or think I was playing that one straight and still try to live vicariously through him.
