At least the early rhetoric from Fox News is what Ingraham is saying. Hopefully moderating themselves in order to become more palatable will be the party line going forward. I’m skeptical however, given that raising the voting age to 21 is an idea that MAGA Twitter has started chirping about after they got absolutely demolished by the Gen Z crowd.
Anyone who thinks the 26th Amendment can be changed in this political climate is delusional.

How will they do that? Young people don't like Christofascism, abortion bans, removing LGBT rights, book-burning, doing nothing about school shootings etc.
There's a subset of them that listen to Ben Shapiro and that ilk. The music industry proves that it's just a race to get to them first at a certain age. Many of them will listen to or believe anything their social network tells them to, until the critical thinking circuits go in.

I certainly wouldn't rule that out. He's proven he cares about himself more than anything else. I could see him starting his own party

I am not sure he would.

I mean, the threat of running as an independent (and taking away 10-20% of the Republican vote) is absolutely what keeps him at the top of the party, but if they ever called him on that he'd have to do two things that he has never done in his life - stand and fight in a losing cause, and keep his word. Plus he could do much the same thing (blow up the GOP campaign) from the safety of TV studios with far less effort and much less expense.

It'll all depend on which path leads to the greatest ability to grift

That's massively disparaging to a generation that has just seen through a horde of right wing propaganda and votes with more empathy and faith in science and data than those that came before them. No doubt the fossilised money men who prop up the republican party had the same simplistic notions on the youth.

His statement was in response to how the GOP may try to win them to their side. It's true that a subset of them actually do listen to that nonsense, just like every other age group.

It's probably smaller than other age groups, but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the GOP will know now they need to appeal to a younger generation.
