Sadly this is still an all too common story.
It's horrible, my Octogenarian stepdad has been "Faraged" as we call it, since my mum passed away. Ranting about the Bilderberg group and the deep state, Trump being sound, and how much sense his beloved bloody Nigel talks etc.
We just avoid talking about current affairs now. Which is sad.

Some really sad stories in the replies to that as well. I have a friend who got brainwashed by a cult (not Trump or Q) and it’s just so sad to witness. The guy was a completely different person in a matter of months. That was bad enough but I can’t imagine what it would be like if it was a parent or family member.

Presumably two things: he isn't as wealthy as he claims he is, and he barely paid any taxes for a very long time.
As a more practical matter, no extremely wealthy person in America would want their tax returns to become public knowledge, because that would enable reporters to comb through all the gray areas and drum up political support for prosecution. Someone who makes or has enough money can afford to throw more resources at the problem of protecting income and wealth than the IRS can throw at prosecuting them. That calculus changes if there's enough political pressure placed on the IRS with respect to a single individual.
